Enjoy breathtaking 180-degree views of Resurrection Bay and the surrounding mountains from this modern, Nordic-inspired Alaskan home. Located in one of Seward’s newest neighborhoods, Alagnaq Inn is just 0.7 miles from the Alaska Railroad Depot and close to the harbor, downtown, and everything Seward has to offer.
This listing includes the entire home, with two COMPLETELY separate living spaces, each with its own kitchen, bathroom, and private entrance. It’s a great setup for families or groups who want to stay together while still having room to spread out.
The Space:
Large picture windows bring the outdoors in, with mountain and water views throughout the main living area. The upstairs space features an open kitchen, dining, and living room, with seating for eight at the dining table and four at the kitchen bar. The fully equipped kitchen has everything you need, whether you’re making a quick breakfast or cooking a big family dinner.
The downstairs suite has its own kitchen, living room, TV, and blackout shades. Please note that **there is no interior connection between the upstairs and downstairs units.** Each space is accessed separately from outside.
Bedrooms & Bathrooms
The home has four bedrooms:
1 king bed
1 queen bed
1 twin bed with a twin trundle
2 queen beds in the downstairs suite
Both living spaces have a full bathroom and their own washer and dryer. The upstairs bathroom has a step-free entry and rainfall shower, while the downstairs bathroom has a tub/shower combination. We provide organic, vegan Public Goods toiletries, blackout shades, noise machines, and earplugs to help you rest during Alaska’s bright summer nights.
The twin bedroom also has a dedicated workspace.
Outdoor Space & Parking
Enjoy the deck, fire pit, and propane grill while taking in the surrounding scenery. Limited firewood is provided, with more available locally. Please leave the grill in its designated location.
There are five parking spaces: two near the black door and three in front of the garage and orange door. The garage is not accessible to guests.
A Little About Alagnaq
Alagnaq means “berry” or “salmonberry” in the Alutiiq language, a name inspired by the abundance of berries in this region.
Annie designed the home to reflect her love for Seward and its natural beauty. Her father is Aleut and her mother is Yup’ik, and sharing Alaska Native culture is important to her family. Throughout the home, you’ll find Alaska Native art, books, and cultural pieces. An NYO ball hangs above the main living space as a tribute to Native Youth Olympics, which celebrates traditional games passed down through generations of Alaska Native people.
We hope your stay offers not only a comfortable place to land after exploring Alaska, but also a deeper appreciation for the land and the Alutiiq/Sugpiaq people whose ancestral homeland this is.
Getting Around
The harbor is within walking distance, though we don't recommend walking with luggage. The free summer shuttle stops at the Seward Visitor Center, about 0.6 miles away, and travels a loop through town. We’re also happy to share taxi recommendations.
The train depot is about 0.7 miles away, and the cruise ship terminal is approximately one mile away.
A Few Things to Know Before Booking
This is a convenient home base near town, not a remote property on acreage.
The garage is not available to guests.
We look forward to welcoming you to Seward and sharing a little piece of Alaska with you!
