About this property
The Driftwood Cottage
This adorable cottage right on the 200 acre Clifford Lake is the perfect place to relax and unwind. It has everything you could want from a Michigan lake house. Wake up each morning and enjoy your coffee on the deck as you watch the sun rise. Or tuck into your chair around the bonfire as you make s’more after s’more—it is a vacation after all.
The deck is covered so you can enjoy some shade on the hotter days when you do not want to be in direct sunlight. Feel free to bring your boat and secure it to the dock for easy access. Or just enjoy swimming or floating off the dock. There is a swimming area immediatly in front of the house.
If you get hungry, walk down to the Historic Clifford Lake Inn and Restaurant where you can enjoy your meal on the large deck that overlooks Clifford Lake. A few miles away in Langston is the Country Cone if you are looking for great ice cream with a small town feel.
If you like to be active, the two mile loop of road that the house is on can be used for walking, biking and jogging. If you are looking for a longer bike ride, head five miles east into Stanton and park at the trailhead in town. The Fred Meijer Heartland trail stretches on for miles. There are three golf courses within a 15 minute drive (Glenkerry, Brookside, the Links at Bowen Lake).
Stanton (5miles) or Greenville (8miles) are the places to pick up any forgotten grocery items that you may need. Greenville has Meijer, Walmart, and ALDI's.
Some other helpful items about the house:
-If you are feeling adventurous, there is a stand up paddle board you can use
-The red adirondack chairs are kept in the shed along with firewood
-There is enough space in the driveway to park three cars.
-The house sleeps 8 people if there are two to a bed. Two bedrooms have queen beds, the loft has two full size beds.
-The dining room table has a built in leaf so it can expand to fit your party of 8. There are extra chairs in the closet under the stairs.
-There is a large crock pot if you want to plan meals
-There is an electric griddle with plenty of room for pancakes and bacon
-All the pots/pans/cooking utensils you should need are in the house.
