The cabin was exactly as depicted. Very clean. The host was extremely prompt in replying to questions. The location is great! It’s an easy walk into town, but still feels isolated. We would definitely stay here again!
This is a wonderful cabin that we have been to twice and plan on coming back. We love the wood buring fireplace and the feel of beeing in a cozy one room cabin but having the convenience of a modern kitchen, extra bedrooms and a great screened in porch we love sitting in the hottub and watching and listening to the river which is only a few yards away. On our first visit we got to see some river otters playing in the water which was a rare treat. The location is perfect and the hosts are great to work with.
Kitchen floor was slippery. Bring nonslip house shoes. The hot tub got warm but no high speed. There needs to be some special shades in the sunroom for privacy. I noticed next door they had good ones. We had good hot water. We enjoyed listening to the river. If it was hot out, it would be fun to walk in it.I questioned whether that bear knew how to open that garbage rack. We walked to flapjacks and the food was good. We walked to town all the way and we enjoyed it, but it was a good walk.
We loved this cabin. Very clean & very convenient to the Gatlinburg strip. The hot tub was perfect. No complaints at all. I appreciate the owner texting me directly during our stay to let us know a bear was spotted in our area.
Our stay at Granny’s River Retreat was amazing as usual. We come to the Smokies once a year and have been staying here for several years. The host/owner is the very best !! Keeps you in the loop on everything and yet gives you all the privacy you could want. Give Granny’s River Retreat a try I promise you won’t be disappointed. Angela
Excellent communication! Perfect proximity for in and out of Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge! Just off the Main Street and tucked away for a truly authentic cabin experience, right on the river! Hot tub clean and steaming while the roar of the river cascading down in the back ground can't be beat! Everything you need provided, and the place was spotless! Lord willing we will be back many times to come! Oh yeah, and "Bears"!!!
This place is truly amazing! The location couldnt be more perfect. It's on the river, and in the woods enough to have the mountain feel. But close enough to town, you can walk. The cabin was clean, cozy, and adorable. We will absolutely be back next year.
Granny's retreat is a special place. Its so cozy and it being right off the river is a huge plus. When we got there, there was a whole stack of wood provided for the fireplace (which we used every night) The host was very nice and responsive to any questions I had. The drive there is super easy! No winding mountain roads and its literally just a short distance walk to the main strip in Gatlinburg. We were right across the street from out favorite mountain coaster! The cabin was extremely clean and did not smell like dogs. We will definitely be coming back to Granny's retreat!
