Welcome to our peaceful home with stunning bay views. This family-friendly space has been lovingly cared for and is now open to guests for the first time.

The backyard is quiet, green, and full of life. A 75-year-old Brazilian pepper tree shades a handmade dining table, a koi pond adds a sense of calm, and a wood-fired pizza oven is ready for unforgettable nights. We can even arrange a private chef to cook for you (subject to availability). We've enjoyed yoga mornings, slow family breakfasts, evening book clubs, and plenty of quiet moments here.

Inside, the home is simple, soft, and thoughtfully designed. Blackout curtains, cozy beds, natural textures, and every detail was chosen with care.

If you value comfort, nature, and meaningful spaces, you’ll feel right at home. Butterflies often visit the garden—they always seem to know when they’ve found something special.

Load the dishwasher
Strip any used beds, gather used towels and store extra beds
Remove personal items, remove leftover food and drinks and take out the rubbish
Turn off the lights and lock the doors
All personal belongings and vehicles must be removed from the property and parking areas by the departure time.
Unauthorized late check-out will incur a $100 fee per hour after 11:00 AM. Departures after 12:00 PM will be charged an extra night. Please just message me if our need accommodations up front.
Please request late check-out at least 48 hours in advance. We will accommodate when possible. If you leave early, a quick text helps our cleaners prepare.
Failure to complete these may result in a negative review from the host.
Absolutely no parties, events, or gatherings are allowed at any time.
Only registered guests listed on the reservation are permitted on the property. No additional visitors without prior approval.
You will be asked to leave the property and your payment for future days will not be refunded if you do not follow these rules.

The house is in a great location. The view is stunning and the yard provides a lot of privacy. The only issue we had was that the house is a bit dark at night. We could have used more lighting in living areas.

I loved staying at Kate's house up on the hill in this exclusive & private area. Host was lovely and super helpful even after the trip, when I had a late package delivered to her house and she retrieved it for me. The grounds of the property are 10/10 stunning. The neighborhood is amazing. The house has two living areas - nice place to bring kids because they can have their own hangout room and frolick in the yard while the adults can hang in the chic second living area. Even the neighbors were amazing - my daughter and her boyfriend made friends with the older couple across the street and were playing basketball on their private court within a few minutes! Great proximity to Pacific Beach and even La Jolla is very close. Thank you KATE!

We had a wonderful stay at Katie's home! We were actually her first renters, so don't be dismayed by the low reviews. She just started renting her property, and is well on her way to being a super host! She had everything set up for our family, lots a kid stuff and a well equipped house. Lots of items in the kitchen to cook with and she provided nice toiletries, towels and beds were super comfortable. The home is really close to the Kate Session Park, walking distance which is great for kids. But the grounds on the property are so nice, you might not even have to leave! Katie was very attentive and helped us with whatever we needed in the house. We'll definitely stay at her home when we return!

We had the most wonderful stay at this property and can’t recommend it highly enough! From the moment we arrived, everything felt welcoming, spotless, and thoughtfully prepared. The home is beautifully decorated, with each piece carefully chosen to create a warm, one-of-a-kind atmosphere. The spacious patio quickly became a favorite spot—gorgeous, comfortable, and offering incredible views of both the city and ocean. The surrounding garden is equally charming, with multiple seating areas, an outdoor dining table, and even a pizza oven for unforgettable evenings outside.Katie, our host, went above and beyond to make our stay special. Traveling with a 1-year-old and almost 3-year-old can be challenging, but she made it seamless. She stocked the fridge with drinks and goodies, left special gifts for our children, and provided toys—including Magna-Tiles—that kept them entertained. The house is even childproofed, giving us peace of mind and allowing us to truly relax.The location couldn’t be better—centrally located and within walking distance to Kate Sessions Park, a perfect spot for picnics, playtime, and sunsets.On top of it all, Katie was a phenomenal host—kind, flexible, and communicative. Why they chose this property

This neighborhood and possibly our properties used to be part of Kate Sessions nursery. She was an amazing horticulturalist who brought diverse plants to San Diego and transformed the landscape. It feels like you are in nature but close to all of the sites of San Diego you would want to visit. This property is a few blocks from La Jolla zip code but you can still access the freeway without much traffic.

What makes this property unique

This house has a very welcoming feel. It is charming and updated. Some of the windows are louvred so a fresh air can get in. The heat and A/C still keep the house at your desired temperature. The garden has mature fruit and berry trees that you are welcome to enjoy.
