Real Hawaii without all of the noise of Waikiki

We love going to Hawaii and this is our second time to visit Honolulu, both for business/pleasure. Both times our host hotel has been on Waikiki beach and the first trip we stayed at the Hawaiian Village. This time we decided to change it up and rent a place to share with a couple of teammates, we are so happy to have found this awesome spot!! Thanks so much for the wonderful stay and real Hawaii experience. The house was very clean and felt like a true vacation home, plus the cab ride to Waikiki and the Convention Center was always under 20 dollars. Also, the owner/operator was very helpful in answering our questions about wifi and such in a fast and gracious manner!! We would love to stay here again in the future!

Great place to stay near Waikiki

We had a great time using this house. It is a quiet neighborhood and is very clean and well maintained. I was a bit cautious about using VRBO for the first time, but the owner of this unit was great at calming my fears and I think I found a regular place to stay whenever I visit this island. The pictures do not show how roomy the house is. It is also in good starting point for travels throughout the island and avoiding the Waikiki traffic without being too far from Waikiki for visits there too. We had a late flight back and the owner let us stay as long as we needed on the last day...while I am sure that has to do a bit with availability, it was great to know you aren't treated like at a hotel and they are willing to work with you. Again, great place, would love to stay there again.

Spacious House With Great Views

We enjoyed the spacious house, it's quiet setting and gorgeous views. There were several great restaurants nearby and it was very easy to get around the island from this location. We spent a couple evenings in Waikiki, snorkeled at Hanauma Bay, went to a luau at Sea Life Park, and took drives to Kailua, Mililani and the North Shore. There are several water sport activities in nearby Hawaii Kai and it's also very close to the Kahala and Ala Moana Malls. The rooms upstairs really warmed up in the afternoon, but each had air conditioning which helped a lot. The narrow, shared driveway was a challenge in our large Ford Explorer so I would recommend a smaller vehicle when renting this property. We had a great time and would consider this house again on a future visit to Oahu!

Great vacation retreat.

We used to live in Honolulu and returned for a vacation. We were familiar with the area; but the house exceeded our expectations. It was very comfortable for 8 of us, and the view was phenomenal! The area was very quiet, and we felt very relaxed on this trip. The owner was very accommodating and easy to work with. He called once while we were there to make sure everything was fine, and his manager was very nice as well. The only hitch is that the streets in Honolulu are narrow and take a little getting used to. We had full size cars and were able to get up to the property fairly easily. A SUV or minivan would have been tougher. All in all, it was a very nice stay, and we would definitely like to return.

Nice place in Kaimuki

Worked out good for us. 4 beds although one is in a living room space but my teenage son slept there and he was ok there. Plenty of towels and beach towels. Boogie boards and some snorkeling gear in the garage. Washer and dryer worked great. Two family rooms to hang out in but just used the one downstairs. Kitchen had everything we needed. Dishwasher worked. Only Mitsubishi electric a/c units in the bedrooms and a window unit in the family room/bedroom. No ac in living space but it was ok with a fan. We didn't spend much time during the hot part of the day there. Bedroom units worked great. No extra TP, extra paper towels, shampoo or soap so make sure you pack some or plan on buying when you get here. Handsoap was at the sinks. Toilet in half bath on main level quit working 5 days in but hopefully that will be fixed for the next guest. Driveway is narrow but fit our little rental mini van. It gets a little tricky backing out. The palm trees are a nice touch around the driveway but are in the way when you're trying to get in and out of your vehicle. The owners might want to rethink that. My husband backed in to the garage to turn around. No parking in the garage. Too much stuff in there but it wasn't a big deal. Street is a pretty steep slope but luckily they don't have to deal with snow or you couldn't get up that thing. Lol. Nice quiet neighborhood but easy access to the freeway. Plenty of restaurants just down the hill. We even got a nail in our tire and my husband drove down the hill to an auto repair place that was really close to get it fixed. Only took a few minutes. Overall enjoyed our stay!

Over all the place was beautiful and was just the thing for my family visit.

An excellent place to rent very beautiful and close to things in Waikiki. My family really enjoyed and loved it. The only thing was the tv in the master bedroom didn’t work but it wasn’t a problem my family didn’t watch a lot of tv while in Hawaii anyway. I highly recommend this rental property everyone would fall in love with it as soon as you see it !

Our stay at Wilhelmina Rise was everything we could have imagined.

We booked this vacation as a happy retirement for my mother. This was our 4th trip to Oahu and her 1st. The house on Wilhelmina Rise allowed us to have the space that was needed and the comfort(s) of home. I have nothing but positive things to say about our experience. The room sizes were more than adequate the beds were comfortable and the view from the hillside was spectacular. The only negative I have about the home was about the internet and cable and the only reason that was an issue was because we were trying to get information on hurricane Lance. Other than that everything met with our expectations.

Beautiful home!

I loved my stay here! A couple minutes out of Honolulu, everything is nearby and still drivable. I got the feeling of being home and having our own place to come home for week instead of being a hotel. Loved this place and would love to stay here again next time we come back to Hawaii! So much towels to use when going to the beach, home that has air conditioning and WiFi. I absolutely loved this place. Recommended to everyone!

Wonderful house with nice Diamond Head view

Cameron is a great host. The house is on the hill in a quiet area. Very spacious, filled with everything you need for a perfect stay. Plenty of towels, kitchen utilities, beach-equipment, just perfect. I loved the washer and dryer in the garage, a lifesaver for families with smaller kids. I would love to stay here next time while visiting Oahu.

Great property with an amazing view!

Our party of seven enjoyed our stay at this property. The description of the property met our expectations for our stay and the advertised view was breath-taking. The downstairs kitchen/family area was than adequate for our party for cooking, eating or enjoying a movie. Bedrooms and beds are comfortable as well. I have seen several previous reviews complaining about WIFI, we did not experience any problems and were able to stream entertainment with no problems . The property is in a very quiet neighborhood property and conveniently located with freeway access 5 minutes away. Highly recommend this property!

Great for large family

The home was prefect for our large party. We used every room and it slept everyone comfortably! The internet didn't work once, and all but one fan in the home didn't work. The AC in the bedrooms were wonderful, but it was hard to hang out in the living room spaces due to the temperature being too hot. Also the neighbors weren't very friendly. They kept telling us we needed to move our cars and couldn't park near the home (in the drive way)

The house was great but we never got a good wifi code the whole 7 days we were there.

The house was fine but we never got a wifi code that worked the whole 7 days we were there. The manager never got back to us with answes on certain questions prior to us leaving for the trip. It was my first vrbo rental experience and it was ok. Not great.

Property without internet connection

It is beautiful house with the view of Waikiki. But the internet router is not working and after many communications with the property agent and owner, the problem still not resolved. We end up without internet connection for the entire stay. We would not rent this house if we know that there has no internet connection. Agent Kristy was working hard to try to resolve this issue, but did not have much help from the owner. I hope they will install the router and resolve this problem before the next guest.

Excellent property, worth every cent.

Family from Ireland, Canada, and New York met here in Hawaii for a week to share a memorable experience, we booked this property and have had a fantastic experience and stay here. The property has excellent amenities, excellent space, and is well maintained. We highly recommend this space to others. Kristy, property manager is responsive, courteous, attentive and professional. This was our first trip to Hawaii, and staying here at this property helped make this trip a very memorable experience for us.

Enjoyed our stay and would certainly return

Amazing rental house and convenient to everything. The house had everything we needed and more. There were 5 of us and we were very comfortable. Having the 2 living rooms and the 4 beds and sofas provided plenty of room and the a/c in the bedrooms kept us cool. Easy access to the interstate too and several great restaurants close by. I will recommend this house to friends and family planning visits to Oahu in the future.

Great location, views and oh so comfortable!

We stayed in this lovely home away from home with our 3 parents and three kids. We wanted to bring them to Hawaii for our20th Wedding Anniversary and we were so pleased to enjoy 2 living rooms, 2.5 baths and a kitchen set up with all the creature comforts of our house. The master bath is set up for the master bedroom, but 2 of the kids shared it with us thanks to the partitioned door on the bedroom. We were always kept private and did not feel like we were living on top of one another. The house is nicely appointed with Hawaiian/Asian decor and convenient appliances including a very useful washer/dryer. The low flow toilets did tend to clog, but we were able to plunge them. Be sure to hold down the handle until it is all flushed and that should be helpful. It did not spoil our time at all. I highly recommend this place if you want to be close to Wikiki, and see the rest of the island. We had one of the best vacations of our life!

Spacious, clean home in a good location! Would stay here again!

Thank you for letting us stay in your home! Cameron was very kind and accommodating throughout the entire experience and we feel that this definitely helped make our trip more enjoyable. The house is situated in a nice, central location so most destinations on the island were easily accessible. At the same time, it's just far enough from the busy area of Waikiki that we were able to enjoy nice, quiet evenings, which was a bonus for us since we were traveling with two toddlers. The house is situated on a hill and with two toddlers in tow, we found that a rental car was definitely needed. We didn't look into bus options in the area so not sure if that could have been an alternate transportation mode for us. The house is depicted very accurately in the pictures. It is very spacious and even with our two families of three (each), there was more than enough space for us. The house is well equipped with supplies, including a full kitchen stocked with everything that we needed. The house was clean and we were provided with lots of clean towels to use. The only thing was that the coffee machine seemed to have been overlooked for some time so it needed a few flushes before we could use it. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay at the house and would definitely come back again the next time that we're in Oahu. For a few of us, it was our first time in Hawaii and we had a great vacation. Thank you again!

Wish We Could've Stayed Longer

This place was awesome! About fifteen minutes away from the airport and very easy to find. This house was perfect for my family. My mother and father, sister and my niece, and my brother and his girlfriend. We each had our own rooms which was very nice and the each room was stocked well with necessities. We had a very comfortable stay which included a roomy kitchen that was well stocked, two living rooms and and two eating areas. The balcony had an outstanding view of the ocean and Diamond Head as well. Me and my brother spent a couple times out there grilling which was very pleasant. The house itself was very clean and neat. A lot bigger then I had imagined. A couple of the nights we had gone out to the local bars and Waikiki and the uber ride to get there was always under 15-20 dollars which shows how close the house is to the city. We had a great time on our vacation and recommend this place to anyone looking for a home away from home. We were thinking of hotels to stay at but it ended up becoming a bit of a hassle knowing that we would have to go out and eat for every meal. Having our own kitchen with utensils, dinnerware, cookware, and getting groceries was a lot easier and cheaper. Dealing with Leonore was very easy and she was one of the most polite and pleasant people I have ever dealt with. Try this place out. you won't be disappointed. :)

Home away from Home...but better!

Perfect place for our family of six...mom, dad, 4 kids ages 16, 18, 20 and 21. Peaceful, away from the noise, a bit scary to get to (it's uphill) but worth the trip! Beautiful views as well. With easy access to H1, we were able to tour the island, enjoy the sights and comeback to very comfortable beds!! Most places do not have A/C but this home does. Coming from Texas, it's safe to say the A/C was most welcomed!! This home was well equipped...washer, dryer, very roomy, and clean. Thank you so much Leonore, for allowing us to share your home. It was a pleasure talking to you. For future renters: You won't regret staying here...and please leave the property as you found it. It's so nice to stay at a place that others are mindful of property that doesn't belong to them! Aloha and Mahalo

Good Plus!

The house is spacious in a quiet neighborhood and close to everything. The directions of how to get to house and parking situation were easily understood. There were plenty of dishes, towels, and storage for our party of 6 adults, 5 of which were females. Having WiFi and unlimited TV channels was an unexpected perk for those slow mornings. The only down side was ants were found in the master bathroom on a daily basis and there was a miscommunication on the refund. In the end, nothing could beat the views and comfort of the house. I would definitely stay at this house and work with the owner again.
