Heron’s Hideaway- Charming cedar home on Lake Martin with flat lot and dock

This charming house with cedar siding is tucked into nature on a flat, waterfront lot in a quiet slough. There is a dock to tie up your boat, swim, or just enjoy the views of the water. An assortment of water toys are available to guests with this rental including a stand up paddle board, 3 different tubes, and a Maui mat so you are sure to have plenty of options for fun on the water. Large rooms with an open floor plan allow for entertaining groups but is also quaint enough for that getaway with your significant other. The owners love to cook so the kitchen has been well stocked for all your needs. There is also a charcoal Weber grill (please bring your own charcoal!). Enjoy your meals on the screened porch looking out at the lake or inside at the dining table. A fun time is sure to be had by all in this relaxing getaway!

This property is close to The Landing, Willow Point and Russell Lands (Catherine’s, Spring House and Fanny Goldmine’s) by boat and not much further by car. Or take a quick ride to Smith’s Marina for some frozen yogurt! Kowaliga and The Social are also close by boat for your dining needs. Don’t worry, if you don't have your own boat there are several options for rentals. Delivery to the house is even an option wirh some boat rentals.

This home boasts 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. Two bedrooms include a queen bed and twin bunks (sleeping 4 each). The downstairs queen room has an attached bathroom with shower which is also accessible from the den. Also downstairs is the spacious master suite with a king bed, TV, and a large bathroom with separate shower and jetted tub. The third bedroom (queen and twin bunks) is located upstairs with its own bathroom (tub/shower combo). Upstairs has a separate HVAC to ensure everyone is comfortable.

Home has wi-fi so you can comfortably work from home if desired! Streaming options and YouTube TV included.

Kitchen includes both a Keurig and a programmable 12 cup traditional drip coffee maker.
Forgot groceries? No problem- with Walmart+ you can have them delivered to the house!
Home is 1.5 hours from Birmingham, 1 hour from Auburn, just under 1 hour from Montgomery & 2.5 hours from Atlanta.

Absolutely a perfect place to stay on Lake Martin! Perfect size for a family of 4 plus friends to stay. Covered screen porch was the best for the pop up storms. Water was clearer than anywhere in the lake to float. Quiet cove with no boat traffic or wake issues. Definitely a place we will stay again!

Fantastic Lake Getaway

Perfect location on a quieter part of the lake, but still only minutes by boat to the Landing and Springhouse. Great setup with only a few feet from the back of the house to the dock. Would definitely recommend!

Heron Hideaway

Wonderful Family Experience

Heron’s Hideaway was a perfect home to spend our family Thanksgiving together. The home was well furnished, clean and very comfortable. The host was very personable and helpful every step of the way. Perfect!

We enjoyed our stay so much! The property was clean, well appointed and just as described. It is on a wonderful quiet slough that was great for playing on the dock. We really enjoyed using the paddle board and tube as well as sitting around the fire pit at night. We hope to be back soon.

Spectacular Heron’s Hideaway

The house is beautiful- unbelievably well equipped kitchen, lovely and comfortable bedrooms (the master bed and bath were awesome). Everything we needed was there - we love a screen porch! And all the water paraphernalia provided was a BIG hit with the kids - the 4 seater, pull behind tube was the favorite!!! The dock and yard, including fire pit, were great. Highly recommend this home for your family vacation!!!

Nice lake house

This is a nice lake house in a quiet cove. It is in an area of the lake that is less busy than most. The house is very well maintained and furnished well. As advertised, the kitchen was well equipped and the appliances were nice. Great rental and we will come again.
