About the host
Hosted by Cynthia or Cody
Since the 1950s, our family had vacationed to the island from New England. However, at some now-distant point through time, roles reversed, and Vero Beach became our hometown. Four generations of our family have lived at Wentworth South.
With a deep love for our home and decades of intimate local knowledge, we’re happy to help you make the most of our property’s joys and our town’s delights.
We have a deep respect for nature and history and do all we can to preserve and protect it. The grounds and house help keep us in touch with those things.
We look forward to sharing these beloved coastal gems with others – discerning vacationers, soul-searching artists, someone needing a sanctuary for a time all alike.

Why they chose this property
Beyond the flawless blend of small-town and upscale atmospheres and its many matchless attractions, this incomparable gem of a southern coastal town is many things more…
It's the clean sea air. When you breathe it in, you almost feel it lift you up.
It’s miles of sandy shore. Where bare feet wandering over wet sand brings clarity to mind.
It’s great oaks swaying in the breeze that give the sense the trees want to tell you a story – scenes of antiquity their ageless billowing canopies once covered.
It's old buildings with storied histories of perseverance and ingenuity. New ones with similar stories, too.
It’s the gorgeous juxtaposition of luxurious manicured estates alongside expansive nature reserves. Casual sandwich shops intermingled with oceanfront fine-dining. Where fashion boutiques and surf shops beautifully collide.
It's the serene parks and endless recreation.
It’s people who embody the best of Southern charm and comfort.
It's the sky ablaze with color at sunset after a fulfilling day. It’s a thankful heart.
It’s something that has to be felt. Because while we could describe all the attractions, beauty and experiences endlessly, there’s a magic here that can’t be imparted in written language. It must be something you find yourself by coming here and living it.

What makes this property unique
Wentworth South was built in a time when the barrier island was an out-of-the way retreat far from the busying world. Today, Vero Beach’s barrier island is a coveted destination with seemingly endless opportunity and amenities. While gifted with this now-central location, the property still provides much the same seclusion and cossetted setting as it did in days of old.
With a long and fascinating history, almost every feature indoors and outdoors has with it stories to be told. A rare vision of Old Florida, there exists still many telltale signs of a time gone by here…
