Family of five (kids 4, 8, 11) pup here for skiing at Magic Mountain. Great location, 5 min to mountain and less to a grocery store in the other direction. House was well-quipped but also not overflowing with leftover food or items from previous guests. The basement was a perfect place to put the kids and they loved the foosball table. The fenced in yard was a plus though the snow was high enough that it didn’t actually contain our dog, something other dog owners might want to keep in mind for winter stays. Well stocked with wood for the fireplace and wood stove. Owner was responsive to a few questions that came up throughout our stay. Highly recommend for a trip to Magic!
Nikita is an oustanding host
He was sure all the time we were ok and comfortable in his house
I recommend his house 100%
Is comfortable for a family and has all you need.
Beds are comfy
Access to the ski mountains is very easy and near
And is a big supermarket also few minutes away
We enjoyed our visit to vermont !
We enjoyed our stay during the holiday week. The fenced in yard for our pups was definitely a plus and hard to find in a rental. Just a note of caution regarding the stairs in the home. They are very steep, and we had an elderly family member with us. Luckily there is a first-floor bedroom and bathroom, so all worked out fine. The owners were very responsive to any questions we had. Is a lovely spot and would recommend it to others.
Don't get me wrong, many, many things are great about this property:
The chalet is adorable.
The owners were responsive to concerns and there was open communication. Plus, very minimal requirements for check-out.
However, this chalet is only perfect for non-July travel.
We had high 80's with high to extremely high humidity. Which we have found out is normal for this area of Vermont.
- No air conditioning
- Some windows have no screens, storm windows closed or painted shut.
- Only 2 fans for 3 levels (4 bedrooms), but with the windows that didn't open, air was not circulating.
- Flannel fitted sheets with no top sheets. Comforters only. We did mention this to the owners who responded they would be buy new sheets for the summer.
The owner did compensate us with $100 for inconvenience. An additional fan finally showed up (delivery was very slow) and provided the best air circulation. The 2 fans on the property did not.
Thank you for sending the reinforcement, but most nights were a sweat-fest :(
The property was great, extremely close to Magic Mountain where we were skiing, quiet area and lovely home. Nikita was extremely understanding throughout the entire process. Definitely recommend :)
We had 4 adults and 4 kids, and the house fit us all easily but was cozy at the same time. An easy drive to Manchester, and plenty of things around for us to get into.

Brian and Nikita are long-time friends and former teammates, both having played Ice Hockey at the University of Albany. They are also avid skiers/hikers, and found themselves spending a significant portion of their time in Vermont. After several years of renting from other folks in the area, they decided it was time for a place of their own, to be used amongst friends, family, and guests alike.
