About this property

Charming house with orchard and pond close to Flathead Lake

My home is situated on a private drive 2 miles west of US HWY 93, in a quiet, forested hillside neighborhood on the western shore of Flathead Lake. 7 acres with a private pond invite you to immerse in nature. From the home you overlook the orchard and surrounding forest, with slivers of Flathead Lake and the Mission Mountains.
The Lake provides ample opportunities for water sports. The area is suitable for mountain biking, hiking, skiing, snowmobiling and riding horses.

Flathead and Mission valley are rich with small local businesses, cherry orchards, breweries and cider works. You'll have the best of North West Montana within easy driving reach: Dayton Marina 10 mins, Lakeside with public beach, shopping and dining in 15 mins, Polson 20 mins, Kalispell 30 mins, FCA Glacier Airport 45 mins, Whitefish or the National Bison Range 60 mins, Glacier National Park 90 mins, Missoula 100 mins.
Rollins combines the pleasures of Flathead Lake with easy access to wilderness mountain areas such as "the Bob" (Bob Marshall Wilderness), Hungry Horse Dam and Reservoir, Jewel Basin, Whitefish Range, Seeley Lake and Stillwater River as well as Cabinet and Yaak Mountains for hiking, trail riding and ATV / enduro riding. Blacktail Mountain is a marvellous spot for both alpine and nordic skiing and offers the "Wild Bill" OHV 4-wheeler trail.

The house is basic with 1400 sqf on 2 levels. It does not have a dishwasher or AC (not required - stays naturally cool in the summers). There is no cellphone service at the property. We do have strong Starlink Wifi and there's a 32" computer screen with Chromecast to watch TV on. There is no actual TV set, but a record player that doubles as a Bluetooth speaker.
Floors are natural oak on the upper floor and industrial concrete slab on the ground floor.
A full kitchen and a gas grill are available for your enjoyment.

Summer getaway in the Flathead

We were so very very pleased with Little Big Lodge. The accommodations were lovely, close to town, excellent for 2 couples, dog friendly and so scenic. We were very close to the beach for paddle boarding. The home was set up w everything we needed and more. The communication was second to none.We will definitely book with Max again. 5 Star

Amazing oasis to reconnect with nature

We had an incredible week at Max's place near Flathead lake. Reliable internet enabled us to work remotely on video calls during the early part of the day, and a short drive to the lake allowed us to enjoy all the fresh air and hiking trails around flathead lake. Well equipped kitchen allowed us to have nights in, and some lovely restaurants a short (less than 45minutes) away!

Secluded cabin in the woods

Cabin is in a nice location and was overall tidy. Newer bath and bed linens would be nice. Not a true 2 bedroom since the sleeping arrangements were private for only one room. Property has lots of amazing potential if trimmed and mowed paths were done. Outdoor table had weeds under/around it as tall as the table. Microwave and stove top was not clean. Updated photos with added storage building 3 feet from cabin would help. With a few minor fixes and cleanups it could be 5 star!

Why they chose this property

I just love NW Montana. The mountains, the streams, the lakes, nature. Sunrises over Flathead Lake and the big Montana night sky.

What makes this property unique

The place has a stream, a pond, an orchard and oldgrowth trees. It is simple and somewhat tucked away. I love that it is secluded but at the same time close to all the promises of NW Montana. There is lots of wildlife on the property, most animals of the northern Rockies come right up to the porch.
