We needed a place in Honolulu for a short stay. The room was small, clean but a bit dated. Location was great, near the beach, many restaurants and businesses.

Disliked: Amenities, communication
First of all, we were supposed to be charged in Canadian dollars, but were charged US , at a much higher rate than advertised rates for the room. The room was extremely small and felt neglected with dingy paintwork, dirty baseboards, at least one cockroach, only one lamp in the bedroom/kitchenette area. Only sink was the bathroom one. The lamp was damaged and shot sparks when phone charger was plugged in.
The desk staff were friendly and helpful and did provide a replacement lamp, and repaired the broken patio door lock but could not assist with booking issues.
Not a VRBO style accommodation, more like a $75 hotel room.

Great location but over rated
Great location for concert at Waikiki Shell.
Good front desk staff and check in. However,
Room needed repairs. The shower drain did not work well. Water backed up. Toilet tilted and lifted off floor when sat on. No lights on counter.
AC was noisy at night. View off balcony not great.
Trash trucks very noisy in the morning

Unit faces noisy inside street and overall old
Room faces street with garbage trucks driving and picking up trash loudly at night, the banging was waking me up constantly. Also there’s a food truck under the balcony with vent blowing smoke and food smells which gets into the room. Bathroom needs renovation, patio old furniture extremely uncomfortable. I understand this is a low budget unit but I wasn’t expecting that much trouble and inconvenience. Couple good things: mattress was comfortable and the location is very good.
