The Farmhouse on Martin Lane

Situated between Lewes and Rehoboth, and just off Route 1, our updated little farmhouse is the perfect home base for your stay at the Delaware beaches. Enjoy the convenience of shopping, entertainment and dining destinations on Route 1, or a 4-mile ride to beaches and downtown Rehoboth or Lewes. We are also just a .5 mile walk to the Rt. 1 at Rehoboth Mall DART bus stop.

This property features a newly updated and fully equipped kitchen, updated bathroom, washer and dryer, newly installed air conditioning, a grill, and patio area shaded by mature trees. There is one large bedroom with a queen-size bed on the first floor. There is one large bedroom with a queen-size bed and two smaller bedrooms each with a twin bed are on the second floor.

We are new to VRBO but we are not new to the area. My wife grew up here, and we will be glad to share with you our favorite places and activities.

We are not calling this house a farmhouse just because it's trendy. It's likely a little historic piece of Sussex County. Property records indicate there was nothing but a lot here until the 1970's. Before then, the lot and acres around it changed owners many times, including having been owned by people named Truitt and Martin. The same year the house appeared on property records, a development across Route 24 was developed. We have a hunch this house was moved from there to its present location. We do not know where it came from, or precisely how old it is, but we can see from the construction it is probably at least 100 years old. We put our hearts into transforming it into a simple, yet comfortable and convenient vacation home that captures the character of the region.

Things you should know: No pets, smoking (cigarettes, vape, anything), or candles permitted. There are security cameras at each entrance of the home.
