A couple of the things we love about our property!
This area is one of the most peaceful areas we have visited. There is a lovely fire pit out back in the center of the yard. I am sure you can muster up enough sticks and wood in the area to get some embers going and relax. If you are out in the evening, keep your eyes peeled for the light bugs! I absolutely love the water passing over the rocks in the stream which travels down the length of our property line. If you walk out the back gate you can follow the stream to some of the local falls and lay on some rock and absorb the lovely atmosphere. An atmosphere filled with greenery, flowers, deer, birds and may of natures other beauties. We constantly cook and eat outside on our table for 10 overlooking the woods and the beautiful Ridgeline.
Things our guests love about Beech and Banner Elk.
It does not matter what time of year you are in the area, there is always something going on or something to do! The countless outdoor and indoor activities begin right out the door from hiking, mountain biking, skiing, tubing in the snow or on a nearby river. Nearby waterfalls, a few notable mountains, blowing rock and much more. The beautiful golf course is right down the street. Some of the indoor activities are your art museums, local shopping, wineries, great Italian and steakhouse dining, craft coffee shops. The list goes on and on. We would love to write you a book or share memories for hours, but it is probably best for you to book with us and begin creating some of your fondest memories!

Abundant acres was perfect for our quick weekend get away. The owner was helpful and responsive and we had everything we needed to enjoy our stay and the area.
Our family truly enjoyed our stay at this cabin. It was cozy, clean, and very well equipped with everything we needed. The kids especially loved having their own little area to relax and play. We would definitely come back and highly recommend it!
Our stay was wonderful! The property was exactly as described—clean, comfortable, and well-maintained. Check-in was easy and the location was perfect for our trip.

House was great and we had a great holiday weekend. Love the place, perfect for families. Minus one star because the wrong code was given for entry. Other than that had a great time!

Glad you and your family were able to have a memorable time together even with the very minor code issue.
We had a wonderful time at the cabin! Very cozy, great fireplace, and plenty of room for everybody. We are a family of 5 with 3 teenagers and everybody was happy. We had all the amenities we needed for cooking and lots of extra blankets for anyone that needed them. It’s right off the main road which is so important for us when it comes to snow, everything is very easy to get to. The host was also very easy to get in touch with when I had a question! We would absolutely stay here again!

We had a pleasant stay at this mountain cabin on Beech Mountain. The property offered everything we needed for a comfortable mountain getaway. The beds were quite comfortable. The cabin's layout was particularly well-designed with two full bathrooms downstairs, which was incredibly convenient for our group.Being so conveniently located to the resort made it easy to come and go throughout our stay. We would definitely consider returning for future mountain adventures.
We really enjoyed our stay! Great location to the top of the mountain and the resort. Also, Close to hiking and biking trails. Everything was clean and house had a great cozy feel! Would love to stay there again!

Great cabin for a family! Beautiful house with comfy beds and it had everything we needed. It was also in the best location with so much close by. The children enjoyed seeing all the deer in the yard and around the neighborhood. We were also visited by a skunk, which was so cool to see! The nature trail was right out of the gate and was a fun adventure. Thanks for a great family weekend getaway!

We are super thrilled that everyone enjoyed and you were able to experience the lovely mountains we enjoy so greatly! It is super cool that your family saw a skunk!!! We have not seen one there yet. If you have a photo please send it!
The Good: the cabin is beautiful, the location is amazing.
The Bad: There are two Nest brand cameras in the common spaces - a direct violation of VRBO's policies - and there were multiple times throughout our trip that the lights on the cameras were livestreaming. It was deeply uncomfortable to look up from eating breakfast and see that someone is watching you.
We arrived through the rain but it snowed overnight and the kids got to experience their first snowfall. We skied Sunday and Monday and the place is less than 1 mile from resort. Lots of deer. Only disappointment was that the fireplace did not work. Would have been nice. The 4 boys ages 10-17 really enjoyed the loft and 4 bunk beds and my daughter and I enjoyed our space in the rooms below. Highly recommend.

Thank you for your feedback! The fireplace is up and running again. So you can top off the vacation with a lovely warm fire
We liked the location of the property. However, it looked like there had not been any grounds keeping in weeks, it was rather grown up around yard. The outside lights were not on when we arrived, not a deal breaker, but it's nice to have lights on for a cabin in the mountains. Especially when it's a place that you've never been and didn't know the property. Then we going out that they would not turn on at all so we had no outside lights the entire stay. Our biggest upset was that the trail listed on the property as a short walk just out of the gate, was closed. The trail was one of the main reasons that we chose this property, it should've been noted in the listing that it was closed for now, my wife was rather upset that it was closed. We returned early from our outing one evening to be able to walk the trail just to find that it was closed. We enjoyed the cabin itself, there is not much of an area to park as compared to other nearby properties. We would stay there again however, there were just a couple of disappointments and inconveniences. These are just personal things that may not bother other guests.

Great Cabin - but Not the best description of weather conditions.
The cabin is as listed. Gorgeous and so clean. But no where was it listed that in winter times you more than likely need a AWD or 4 Wheel Drive vehicle. We planned our kids Christmas and was not able to enjoy the cabin. The roads were unserviceable and froze over. We barely made it down the road to the house on the 1st night. Had to cut our trip early by 2 days bc the weather was turning worse while our stay. And freezing temps would have us stuck if we didn’t get out the next day. Our children wanted to tube and ski but if we stayed we would have been snowed in and unable to do anything.
If we had someone tell us this before our trip we would have prepared better and hopefully been able to enjoy the cabin. The neighbors are great!! They are the ones that helped us get out for our children to have a happy new years and enjoy their Christmas presents.
Did request a day of my 3 day trip for a refund but the contact person has never replied back. Sad on their part.

Robin,
Thank you for speaking on behalf of the gorgeous and clean cabin. We do appreciate that! As owners we strive to be as transparent and honest as possible. It is our duty to do what we can to ensure that our guests are able to have an enjoyable stay regardless of the season. Typically, when you book a ski/tube vacation in the mountains, 5 minutes from the first chair, it should be expected that conditions for driving may not always be favorable. Additionally, there is a caution sign that is yellow and has a flashing light indicating the possibility of 4x4 or chains well before conditions get worse. That sign is 15-20 min before you reach our cabin. It gives you the option to turn around and make last minute preparations, like purchasing chains at the nearby store. If weather is indicative.
We did our best to communicate with you through the platform and help with ideas and information so that you were able to accomplish the gift you were trying to give your children.
VRBO has a policy that covers extreme weather. If you feel that the weather was extreme, I strongly advise you to discuss your matters with them. They may agree and help cover some of the costs you requested us to cover. It is outside our policy to refund based on the conditions you have stated. I am very keen to the weather there and know that the weather was typical high altitude mountain weather. You also noted that the weather was getting worse during your stay, however the weather showed temperatures in the mid 40’s the day and time you chose to leave.
Thank you for the review and we wish you and your family the best throughout the new year.
Nick
This place was gorgeous! The sleeping areas were perfect for us. The trails that connect to the property were some of the best we hiked. I only gave a 4 rating because the kitchen wasn’t as well stocked as we are use to. Our grandchildren have severe food allergies and therefore we have to make everything from scratch. For instance there is no strainer. No pother when I went to make homemade lemonade. Pans were too small for a large group so had to make a couple batches which took longer. The grill was severely rusty indicating that it hadn’t been cured by previous renters like it says you are supposed to do. This took us quite awhile to do before we could use it. There were only one dish towel. No dishcloths so I had to go buy a set of both. If you don’t cook then you have no worries the place is perfect. The only other issue is our grands are also allergic to mold and there must have been a leak under the sink. They were urine dumping terrible all week which happens when exposed to mold. The smell when you open the lowers cabinets was very strong. Just a heads up to people with these issues. These are things that can be fixed very easily by the owners. Over all a great vacation with a lot of precious memories made. 😊
