Enchanted Oaks is a beautiful, custom cottage perfectly located with easy access to Highway 1 and all that the beautiful Monterey Peninsula has to offer. Five minutes from downtown Carmel, world class restaurants & stunning beaches but a world away from the crowds is this perfectly appointed, detached house surrounded by peaceful wooded views, privacy and nature.

The home is appointed with dark hardwood floors, stone tile bathroom with walk in shower, walk-in closet & gorgeous forest views from every room. The kitchen is stocked with everything you need to prepare a simple breakfast or an elegant meal. There is a gas grill on the large wrap around deck. Large windows overlook a small wooded canyon with ample privacy.

There is one bedroom with a queen size bed with high quality linens.

A 300 square foot wrap around deck, to enjoy morning coffee or a glass of wine. Pets are welcome with owner approval.

This was the 2nd Summer we rented this guest house and it was wonderful. Its location is perfect and the size is awesome. The owner is wonderful to work with and keeps her guest house clean. It truly is a home away from home.

Unforgettable Honeymoon

My husband and I had the most amazing honeymoon. Enchanted Oaks is close to everything! It was so nice to come back to our quiet little retreat after a day of sightseeing. The cottage is clean and easily accessible from Highway 1. I would absolutely recommend staying here and will again!

Bring Your Binoculars

Had a lovely time staying at Enchanted Oaks in late May / early June. Enjoyed the deck and view out into the tree canopy where there were many different types of bird species, including acorn woodpeckers and even a resident great horned owl! Easy access to the Monterey Peninsula and many hiking trails, or just hang out on the deck enjoying nature!

Secluded Perfection

Enchanted Oaks was perfect for a weekend getaway to Carmel. My best friend and I found the views from the porch and living room to be magical. We thoroughly enjoyed the space, it’s a quick drive to town/beach, plus the hosts were very hospitable and easy to communicate with. The driveway looks a little daunting at first, but if you have an AWD vehicle and a little confidence, it’s a breeze. 10/10 would stay again and highly recommend for anyone looking to unplug.

We spent 2 weeks in the Enchanted Oaks, and although it could be a nice cottage, it lacks some basic things to make it worth the kind of money we spent. The pots and pans are not usable, there are only 2 wine glasses and other basics of the kitchen are not there, or lacking in quality and quantity. The BBQ is broken as is the refridgerator and the deck was too moldy and dirty to use. We think the owners need to take better care of their cottage before renting it

We are sorry these guests were unhappy and wish that they had let us know at some point during their stay. All but one of the pots and pans are new, they are clean and very usable. We did replace two cookie sheets as well as the single pan that had a couple scratches in the bottom. In addition to the three wine glasses there is a plethora of drinking glasses, beer steins and mugs. We have since added three more wine glasses. The stainless refrigerator, like all the appliances, is very clean, fully functional and looks great. We remedied that issue with a squirt of WD40. The gas grill starter is broken. We provided a long handled lighter for their use, the rest of the grill is fully functional. We just ordered a new gas grill for the summer season so that all future guests will not have to light the grill by hand. There were many days of heavy rain and wind during their stay. The deck was cleaned on the day they arrived and once in the middle of their stay. Perhaps they mistook yellow, Spring pollen as mold. There is no mold anywhere on the deck as we clean and maintain it regularly. Enchanted Oaks is not only a lovely, well appointed, one bedroom home with fully stocked kitchen, surrounded by a peaceful forest but it’s also an excellent value. You would be hard pressed to find a vacation rental or hotel in our price range that’s as nice in this area. Please refer to our 57 positive reviews for a balanced description of Enchanted Oaks.

Lovely place

Kari was extremely accommodating. Communication was easy and fast. The cottage felt like a little slice of Heaven. Quiet, private and well appointed. I sat on the deck with my morning coffee and thoroughly enjoyed watching the birds and squirrels. The location is great. A short drive to downtown Carmel, Pebble Beach and Monterey. We were sad to leave.

Carmel Vacation

For the most part this is an amazing property - beautiful space, amazing location, beautifully appointed. The one drawback for me is a very steep driveway that needs to be navigated coming and going. This is not mentioned in the description - and should be. Prospective users should know that all-wheel drive is preferred and that a large vehicle would be almost impossible. I was terrified every time I had to drive up or down the driveway. I'm not sure I would have selected this space - as fabulous as it is - if I had known about the driveway.

Cozy Place Conveniently Located

The place was exactly as advertised. Kari was a great host. The location was perfect… in a quiet neighborhood, but close to downtown Carmel, Monterey, and Point Lobos. The place was very clean, well decorated, and has a nice deck for sitting outside and listening to the birds and/or reading and eating. We’d stay here again in a second.

Fantastic Holiday Getaway

This beautiful cottage was the perfect getaway for spending Christmas in Carmel. The location was an 5 minute drive to Carmel by the Sea and about 10 minutes to Monterey. The cottage was super clean, easy to find, and very private. We would absolutely stay again in a heartbeat!

Great get away in the woods close to Carmel

We have stayed here before and like it. Its very comfortable and private. They are pet friendly. Our only complaint was the fireplace that heats the house was broken. We did have a heater in bedroom but did turn the oven on to take the chill off when we first showed up. They did have a small heater in the living room but it didn't really heat up the large room without alittle help.

Hi Carol, Thank you for your review. I'm so glad you enjoyed your stay. The fireplace was repaired several months ago and now it does need to be replaced. Unfortunately, we cannot get the unit we need at this time due to supply chain issues. There are three electric heaters in the cottage, most guests find that two are sufficient to heat the whole house. I am very concerned you used the gas stove for heat, it's dangerous and entirely unnecessary. I have an even more powerful heater here that I would have gladly brought over. It is usually too much heat for the space but it has been colder than usual these past few weeks and everyone is different in what makes them comfortable. I really wish you had said something during your stay. We communicated quite a bit and you never said a word about being cold. I hope that future guests will be clear about their needs while they are here so I can fix the situation immediately. That's what I'm here for! We hope to have a new fireplace soon, it's on backorder and will be installed as soon as it's delivered. Thank You, Kari
