The home was spacious enough to accommodate our family of 10 (5 adults and 5 children), which we appreciated. However, there were several things we wish we had known before booking that I think are worth sharing for future guests. While the home had enough space for everyone, the living room furniture was limited, making it difficult for our family to sit together comfortably. Our biggest challenges was the location. The house beside the Eisenhower Expressway (I-290), the traffic noise and lights were very noticeable throughout the night. If you’re a light sleeper or traveling with young children, this is something to consider.Temperature control was another issue. The second floor became very hot at night, with fans providing very little relief, making sleeping uncomfortable. As far as cleanliness, the home was relatively clean on the surface, but there were some noticeable signs of wear that could use more attention. The basement carpet had large stains, and there were quite a few scuffs on the walls. The refrigerator also had a strong fish odor that transferred to the items we stored inside, which was unpleasant. One other concern was the dining room rug. All of the corners were curled upward, creating a tripping hazard. My toddler son tripped over it repeatedly during our stay. The garage door was also challenging to use, with no remote provided we had to manually hold the button down to close the door (holding until it was fully closed or it would re-open).
