Wonderful Stay!

This stay was was great! The house is immaculate and decorated beautifully. The wi-fi is amazing and we appreciated all the little touches like the hummingbird food and little soaps, etc. I just loved beginning my day on the proch swing listening to all the nature around me. Can't wait to come back!

Great home deep in the woods. The house can be a bit of a challenge to find. The key is noticing the mailbox and turning left onto the grass driveway. It's far out and takes a good bit of time to get to and from. There's zero cell signal on the way so make sure you have the lock codes open before you get there. The house is awesome! The grounds are beautiful. The home has great resources and Wi-Fi. Access to the satellite tv would have been nice, saw the dish on the roof. Also would be great if they made sure propane was stocked for the grill and fire pit. However, we had a great time and really enjoyed the home.

Dan, We're glad to see that you enjoyed your stay! Cell service in the mountains can unfortunately be spotty which is why do our best to ensure you have all necessary check in information on the morning of your arrival. While we can't control what amenities the homeowner chooses to share we can certainly pass along the suggest. It was our pleasure hosting you and with any luck we'll be able to host you again in the future.

Sugar Creek Retreat - Great Stay!

We stayed at Sugar Creek Retreat the first weekend of November for Western Carolina Homecoming weekend. Had 9 people in our group and there was plenty of room for everyone and the kitchen and home was extremely well appointed. We would absolutely stay here again for either Homecoming or Graduation weekend!

Unbelievable beauty and serenity.

Wow...it's hard to actually describe the feeling that you get being at this cabin. Peaceful, beautiful, amazing, luxurious, these come instantly to mind. Wake up to see deer in your yard and enjoy the sweet smell of lilac. Sit in the hot tube under a canopy of stars. This property has it all. The neighboring towns offer great food and entertainment, not to mention cool shops to browse. If you are considering a vacation in the crisp, clear mountains, Sugar Creek Retreat is a must. I guarantee that we will be back.

This property was wonderful! It went over and above our expectations and would be super for a family retreat. It is remote and peaceful.

Pretty house, disappointing for hiking

We wanted a cooler spot to stay and do some hiking. The ad shows pictures of lovely trails and talks about the trails on the property. Those trails are impassable with knee high poison ivy. So the 8 mile curvy drive just added distance to getting to hikes. The house is lovely but for our purposes, overpriced due to the location.

Great home with great proximity to WCU

We bring Thanksgiving to our college students each year. The whole family thoroughly enjoyed this home. Just modern enough and updated, but cozy. Screened porches are great, hot tub was lovely on cold nights, so much charm and more privacy than expected. This was a great home with our dogs. The driveway to the property was easy without it being too steep like other homes. We do a lot of cooking when we rent. If you do also…bring all your consumables with you. I say this because some cabins have spices, detergent, coffee, kleenexes, etc. You’ll need to pack them here. Our holiday was wonderful in this home! Thanks for sharing it!

Amazing stay!!!

Did not want to leave this slice of heaven! Beautiful and stylishly decorated home, in a quiet forest surrounding, with unbelievable mountain views and amenities. It was a pleasure making meals in the FULLY equipped kitchen including coffee! The house was decorated tastefully with everything we needed to set a fancy dinner table to invite guests. Nature trails to the river occupied our daytime hours, relaxing in the swing, afterwards. Two screened porches were perfect for afternoon board games, borrowed from back bedroom. The dedicated outdoor gas grill area, by the brook, made one evening an adventure. After picnic table dining, we stepped over to the wildlife firepit and nestled into the Adirondacks. How nice to hear the owls and other nature sounds. Loved the pretty glass fire table and comfy sofas, in the backyard, but our favorite spot was the hot tub lounger! Owners thought of everything from necessities to niceties. Next time, two weeks!
