Welcome to the Corner Store! This is your own private apartment -- the entire second level of what used to be a corner grocery store. Built in 1902, the space is super unique, comfortable, and modern, yet retains its historic and funky character. Located near downtown, the U of M, and the Mississippi river. Enjoy the spacious, open layout, take advantage of the beautiful backyard and wood-burning sauna, and explore the neighborhood! Please note that this is the upper level of a duplex -- the apartment is private and entirely yours, but there is a separate apartment below you where other guests will be staying.
In the mornings, enjoy coffee and breakfast outside on the deck among the treetops overlooking the large, wildflower-filled private backyard, where, later in the day, you might decide to stroll down the spiral staircase to the yard and have a barbecue, or sit around the fire pit on a starry night with a drink, or have a rejuvenating sweat in the sauna.
The apartment will sleep five people, but is most comfortable with two or three.
I live nearby, and am always available by phone whenever you might need anything!

Upon arrival, you can let yourself in with the keypad lock -- I`ll provide the code when you book.
—————
BEDROOM
—————
There is one bedroom, with plenty of room to hang up your clothes, and a comfortable queen-sized memory-foam mattress with lots of pillows and a down comforter. There are bedside tables with lamps and outlets for your phones. The living room sofa is comfortable and can accommodate one person, and I can also provide a queen-sized self-inflating air mattress if needed.
—————
BATHROOM
—————
There is one bathroom with tub/shower, sink, toilet, plenty of fresh white towels and washcloths, a hairdryer, and complimentary shampoo/body wash.
—————
KITCHEN
—————
The kitchen has everything you need to cook up a storm -- convection oven and gas range, fridge, pots/pans/utensils/dishes, dishwasher, electric kettle, toaster, plenty of counter space, good knives, and a concrete rolling island. Just off the kitchen is a cool birch tree-painted room with a breakfast counter, which leads out to the second-story deck.
—————
LIVING/DINING ROOM
—————
The living area is open and light-filled, with lots of plants and art. There`s a large sofa, a chaise lounge, and our custom made coffee/end tables. In the adjoining den, there is a desk, a sofa, and a large flat screen TV with all the streaming services and a great soundbar.
—————
BACKYARD/DECK
—————
You have your own private deck, and also access to the yard below via spiral staircase. The backyard is a special spot. Fully fenced in, it feels super private and a world away — plenty of decks, lounge spots, garden beds, and a fire pit for you to enjoy on a chilly evening with friends. Best of all, there`s a new wood-fired sauna for you to enjoy -- perfect for the wintertime.
—————
LAUNDRY
—————
There is a washer and dryer in the unit, fully free and open for you to use at any time.
The entire second floor of the building is yours!
I will interact with guests as much or as little as needed -- I love to give recommendations on where to eat, where to see great live music, etc. I`m reachable 24/7 via phone, text, and email.
I know this neighborhood inside and out, and will provide you with my ultra-awesome, comprehensive neighborhood guide when you book :)
The takeaway: you`re in the epicenter of the best food, drink, coffee, art, and culture in town, walkable to most of it. If you`re a beer fanatic, you`re a stone`s throw from over a dozen local breweries.
When you venture out, you will find yourself in the heart of the Northeast Arts District -- a safe, charming residential neighborhood that is within 1-2 miles of coffee shops, grocery stores, restaurants, and all manner of excellent restaurants, bars, and attractions, in addition to incredible local breweries, hundreds of artist studios, and more.
Our street is a designated bikeway, among many others that cover the entire city. Minneapolis is one of the best biking cities in the country, and we provide maps and route advice to get you just about anywhere.
We are close to the center of downtown, the Minneapolis chain of lakes, and Target Field (the new Twins stadium). The largest art crawl/festival in the nation, Art-a-Whirl, takes place directly in our neighborhood every May.
There is plentiful, unrestricted street parking right in front of the house! You can walk to a ton of nearby spots from the house. Uber or Lyft rides arrive very quickly (typically within 5-10 min). Biking is a great way to get around this neighborhood — there are conveniently located NiceRide bike stations available nearby, and all over the city. There are major bus lines very close by which will zip you to downtown, the U of M campus, and most anywhere else -- including to the light rail, which connects with the airport, the Mall of America, and St. Paul.
Sales tax is included in your nightly rate.
We provide freshly washed towels, washcloths, and bedsheets for every guest. There is soap and shampoo/conditioner, and a hair dryer. There`s also a washer and dryer for laundry, which you`re free to use anytime, and an iron/board.
