The Main Level (768 sq. ft.) features a warm, open-concept living space designed for gathering—whether you’re playing games, sharing meals, or preparing the day’s fresh catch. The fully equipped kitchen includes full-size appliances, a microwave, pots and pans, dishes, utensils, a coffee maker, and a Keurig. The dining area has sliding doors that lead to a large covered west-facing porch measuring 36’ x 8’, making it the perfect place to relax rain or shine. The living room offers comfortable seating, a Smart TV, and a gas stove for chilly evenings. The main level bedroom includes a queen bed with fresh linens and bedspreads. The full bathroom has a shower and is stocked with towels, a hair dryer, and basic toiletries.
The covered porch is a guest favorite and offers plenty of seating for relaxing and spending time with family and friends while enjoying the peaceful surroundings.
The Loft Sleeping Area (382 sq. ft.) works well for families, kids, or multiple generations traveling together. It overlooks the main living space and provides plenty of room for everyone to sleep comfortably. The loft includes one king bed and two full beds, all with fresh linens and bedspreads. A sliding glass door leads to a private loft deck overlooking the backyard, creating a cozy and secluded spot for morning coffee and birdwatching.
Laundry access is available in the unfinished basement, which is not part of the rental space. Guests are welcome to use the washer and dryer, but this area is for laundry use only.
The property offers a wooded, semi-secluded yard ideal for yard games, grilling, and relaxing evenings around the fire pit. There is plenty of parking near the cabin, as well as additional space near the pole barn for trailers, boats, or snowmobiles. An aluminum canoe is included for guest use. Please note that railroad tracks run behind the pole barn and are rarely intrusive.
Lake life is right at your doorstep. Bring your fishing poles and your boat, or rent ours. The private dock on the Marion Lake channel is located approximately 275 feet from the cabin down a gradual slope and includes foam bumpers to protect your boat. Fishing right off the dock in the spring is excellent and especially fun for kids and grandkids. The property is located just minutes from the public boat launch.
Pontoon rental is available for an additional fee. The cost is $250 per day with a three-day minimum, or $1,250 for the full week, offering significant savings.
Marion Lake offers more than 1,600 acres of water, depths over 70 feet, and clear water that is perfect for fishing, cruising, and water sports. Walleye, northern pike, largemouth bass, crappie, and bluegill are commonly caught. In the spring, guests often enjoy pulling in fish after fish right off the dock. As summer progresses and fish move to the main lake, the private dock remains the perfect place to park your boat and head out for fishing, water sports, or a relaxing cruise. If fishing isn’t your thing, the dock is also a peaceful place to read a book and enjoy the views.
While there is no swimming beach directly on the property, a sandy, shallow swimming area is located just across the lake and can be accessed by car or by boat. The gradual entry makes it ideal for kids of all ages and is a favorite spot for beaching the pontoon and swimming for hours.
Otter Tail County is an outdoor lover’s paradise, offering over 1,200 lakes and streams, easy access to snowmobile trails, and three nearby state parks with miles of hiking and biking trails. Guests also enjoy visiting historic Phelps Mill, as well as shopping, dining, and breweries in Battle Lake, Otter Tail, and Perham. One local summer favorite is the Wednesday night turtle races in Perham, where you can bring your own turtle or borrow one of theirs.
We look forward to sharing our beautiful log cabin with you and hope you enjoy your time in Otter Tail County as much as we do!

Our family loves to spend time together at the cabin and in the areas surrounding.
We really enjoy fishing area lakes, but Marion Lake has a special place in our hearts.
We are extremely excited for others to experience this space with their family or friends! We hope you enjoy it.

Why they chose this property
We fell in love with Otter Tail County the first time we visited! The area has so many great places to explore. We love spending time outdoors fishing, swimming, hiking, biking, snowmobiling, or hanging out by the fire in a lawn chair. The cabin is located in an area that offers a fairly secluded and peaceful landscape along with access to the lake off the channel.
What makes this property unique
There are two main reasons that that this Marion Lake cabin stands out from others. The first is our unique property location. Most of the lake cabins in the area are right on the lake with very close neighbors and offer little to no privacy. Our cabin is set back off the lake's channel and surrounded by trees so there is much privacy from our neighbors. We have a beautiful private setting, yet are able to utilize having direct access to the lake relishing in all of the great fishing and water sports opportunities the lake has to offer.
The second unique thing about this cabin is that is that it is log built. There is nothing that says "cabin", and sets the vacation mode more, than relaxing in a cozy log cabin! In the winter time, relaxing by the fireplace with a warm cup of cocoa, completely sets the stage for a well spent vacation. Or in the summer, sitting out with friends or family on the porch laughing and talking will create some outstanding memories.
