Other things to note Our house is a small lodge with a wood burning stove and an artesian well system for water, our well water does have a strong sulfur smell and is not intended for consumption. we do provide 15 gallons of fresh drinking water for cooking with and consumption. Yes our water has a unique smell to it, but it is completely normal for water to have the odor it does in out region of the state. The Air Conditioning is a window unit seeming how it's really only used 2 months out of the year. The property has a shared driveway with other airbnbs and we are currently putting in trails and campsites along the creek along the trails in the back of the property. if you decide to walk the trails, please be cautious. they are not finished and currently being worked on. Creek’s Edge was such a cozy cabin-like feel! Check in was easy and painless… Charles was extremely responsive and made sure the stay was enjoyable… I didn’t want to leave! :-)
Beautifully appointed cabin! When we arrived, the woodburning stove had the place cozy and warm! Wonderful kitchen for cooking and socializing. Already planning our next stay! Thanks Charles!
Great location, equipped with everything you need ! We would return in the summer months, but enjoyed the wood stove, supplied the wood and even started the fire before we got there! Highly recommend!
We loved this cottage. It had everything we needed for a long weekend to visit the vineyards. Being right on the Outlet added to its charm and allowed us the ability to walk along or sit by the stream, enjoying nature. We'll definitely come back.
House was super clean. The massage chair was great after being in the car all day. The little town at the top of the lake had nice shops and places to eat. The owner was super responsive and a very nice guy.
We were in town for a concert at Lincoln Hill Farms and had a wonderful time at this place! Very well equipped, laid back and the grounds were amazing for a fire and coffee by the river in the morning. A giant blue heron apparently lives there because we saw him frequently, and we also spotted a couple bald eagles! Charles was very responsive and we would gladly recommend this place for anyone visiting the area!
Great space, very comfortable and and uniquely decorated. Loved the industrial kitchen. Beds were comfortable. We appreciated the bottled water but struggled with the odor of the hard water.
Creeks Edge was very neat and clean. Connecting with Charles (host) was easy and he answered any questions very timely.
Everything was as described. We had an enjoyable stay.
Thanks!
The house is tucked away off the main roadway. A large lot close to a creek, with benches, a hammock, fire pit for a relaxing rejuvenating stay. Very comfortable
Charlie the owners was at the property very welcoming and nice .the property was amazing. Right on a river. The house was above incredible, you feel your at spa .he has everything you could ever want. The only down is the well water has a sulfur smell but he provides bottled water for cooking and cleaning .so no problem. Cool evening enjoyed a nice fire.the pictures on the site are exactly what it looks like. Dont think theres a picture of the bench by the river its a great place to set.
Great little property tucked away but close to everything
The property was wonderful. It was really nice inside with lots of room and well maintained. There is a full-size hibachi grill, which we didn't use but is a really cool feature. There are lots of woods around the property making it a great place to explore. The owner was helpful and prompt in responding. As mentioned in the listing the water does have a very strong sulfur smell so be aware of that. The only thing I would suggest would be a better sign at the driveway entrance We arrived in the dark and it was pretty tricky finding the driveway, otherwise, I would definitely recommend this property to others looking for a quiet place to get away, while still being close enough to enjoy all the Finger Lakes has to offer.
We all enjoyed our one night stay. The house is great, in a coinvent location, and has a intriguing and spacious outdoor area. The owner was friendly and responsive when I had a minor issue with the keypad (which was immediately solved in one minute on the phone).
So why only four stars? Exactly one reason: the water has a very heavy sulfur odor.
It was acceptable for hand washing, but heaven hep you if you brush your teeth with it. I'm not a chemist, however, I do know that systems exist to deal with this situation. Some people may be okay with it. None of us were pleased with it - and we are all familiar with well water. Since it was a one night stay we all opted not to use the shower, even though no one brought up the topic in the morning.
An argument can be made one way or the other about soft water vs. hard water, but when it comes to heavy sulfur (it stained my friends rings when she did the dishes) I don think the is a good "pro-sulfur" case for a short term rental property.
