About this property

Large cabin in Ellijay, tubing & Fishing on property! Close to orchards wineries

Mountaintown Retreat is the perfect getaway for your family and friends. Private creek access for floating or fishing. Fully equipped and over 4000 sq ft, there’s room for everyone to have their own space.

Located on 9 acres with extensive creekfront on Mountaintown Creek, there’s plenty to do without leaving the property. In the summer tie up tubes and float in the cool, fresh mountain water. On chilly nights gather around the fire pit for s’mores and stargazing. Morning coffee on the screened porch is probably our favorite.

The cabin is equipped with all that you'll need and downtown Ellijay & Blue Ridge are close by. Local activities include wineries, orchards, fishing, hiking, mountain biking, shopping, and more.

We have a 5 star rating on the other major homestay site if you'd like more info.

About the host

Hosted by Debbie Basnett

Host profile image
I grew up in Georgia and currently live in Savannah. My husband spent 20 years in the Air Force so I feel fortunate to have a multitude of travel and experiences from that time.

Why they chose this property

My Dad bought this property back in the 80s so we have a lot of family memories here. It's a great place to disconnect and just relax. We love floating in the creek, fires at night, and coffee on the porch in the morning.

What makes this property unique

We're not in a typical cabin rental area which we love. Although the area has become more popular recently, staying at our cabin is more of a "local" experience than most.
