The property was very clean and had everything we needed for our stay. The internet was also very fast. This place is to enjoy peace and quiet in the midst of nature. The host provided us with the information about the places to visit in that area. Excellent communication with the host.

Slice of heaven!

This cabin was perfect for our visit to Pretty Place chapel! It was about a 40 minute drive with many hiking trails with beautiful waterfalls along the way! The cabin had everything you could need or want, I didn’t even have to run out and buy coffee!

Couldn’t want anything more!

Great location- close to table rock and private. You feel very secluded after the climb up the driveway. The house is small but very comfortable and outfitted with everything you could need for a little mountain getaway. We really enjoyed using the fire pit and having breakfast on the back porch.

More than I expected!

The stay was the best VRBO experience I have had to date. Everything from the location, to the amenities, to the dwelling were more than what I expected. I would definitely favorite this property and book again when visiting the area.

Another 5 star stay

Second time staying and was even better than the first time. Saw multiple black bears down in the hollow was awesome to see! Location can’t be better multiple if not endless things to do around the area during your stay. Host goes above and beyond with things they offer inside the cabin including some tasty s’mores to enjoy around the campfire(wood provided!). Perfect getaway for a relaxing vacation definitely will have to book again!

Relaxing Weekend

This was the second time I have stayed at this property. The cabin is perfect for a couple of guys or a small family who just want to get away from it all. The property is very close to parks and trails. The host is amazing and keeps the cabin very clean and neat. He will also place some fresh food items there for you as well. I highly reccomend this quiet get away and will be returning again very soon.

Little Cabin

This property is definitely secluded, That's what I liked about it. Quiet place to get away from the current chaos. there was all the utensils to cook, and make just about everything. The only thing lacking was a set of wine Glasses. Not a big deal, we made due. Probably going back in the future, for a quiet rest.

Perfect

Loved my stay here! The lodging was very clean and very well stocked, including plenty of available snacks, breakfast foods, and kitchen necessities. It's clear a lot of thought and care has gone into preparing this lodging for visitors, and it was a seamless check in process. The host even let me check in early since there were no conflicts, which was much appreciated! For fellow creek lovers: the creek in the hollow is very small and I only noticed it being audible from the lodging in the late quiet of the night (in April, I was fortunate enough to hear the creek as the slightest gurgle, heard among the calls of a barred owl and an eastern whip-poor-will). The slope down to the creek is steep and I found no path down, so it is quite the uncharted steep hike to get down to the creek and then back up to the lodging. The creek and hollow itself absolutely adds to the secluded forest experience of this lodging and I loved that it is a part of this property.Overall this was exactly what I was looking for and I would absolutely stay here again!

Our mini vacation to the mountains was a wonderful escape! This was a cozy, charming house located in a peaceful, wooded environment. Hidden Gem is a perfect name! There is a wonderful country restaurant and a vineyard nearby. The house offered all the comforts of home, and I appreciated the essential food and beverages the host provided. They were an unexpected yet welcome touch. The most enjoyable moments were experiencing sunrise over the mountain from the back deck and sitting around the fire pit making s’mores in the evenings. The house is conveniently located to several state parks, mountains and waterfalls.

Peace and Solitude

This is our 6th stay and it was just as amazing as the first time. Don is an outstanding host. Staying there is like staying in the home of the family member that loves you the most. All the comforts of home with great snacks and the good shampoo. Location is great for hiking the many great trails in the area.

Perfect for staying close to family reunion

This cabin was less than 2 miles from the home where we celebrated my mother's 90th birthday. We used the cabin strictly for extra bed space. Nonetheless, it is perfectly appointed with many, many grocery items and countless homey touches. Lots of notes of what/where to enjoy in the Pickens County area. The only caveat is that the final road to the cabin is not paved. It had been rainy, and if you are in a low-slung car or afraid of spinning tires on gravel, it might be unnerving. Strongly suggest you get there in daylight. It would be much harder to find in darkness. Otherwise, a very, very cozy stay in what you can tell is a well-cared for and appointed property. Lots of thought and care went into this!

About the host

Host profile image
I grew up in the Southeast United States. I finished High School and College in Pensacola, Florida. I spent four years in the Marines as a crewmember in the F4, Phantom, aircraft.

I am retired from Chevron Phillips Chemical Company. My last position was a Computer Systems Analyst, mainly working on WEB applications.

After retiring, my wife and I moved to Upstate South Carolina. Since that time, I have spent most of my time building our rental cabin.

Why they chose this property

After retiring, my wife and I were looking for a place to build in the local area. After being shown this lot, I was hooked. I called my wife and told her that I must have died and gone to heaven.

What makes this property unique

The solitude and privacy is wonderful... and it is truly a wilderness setting. You can hear the creek at the bottom of the hill.
