Thank you for your kind review! We’re so glad you enjoyed the cozy cabin and those beautiful views—they really make the experience special. We’d love to host you again!
Clean cabin, good notes of restaurants, things to do, how to operate the hot tub. Tricky driveway, but when our truck got stuck on top of the mountain, the owners were easily reachable an extended out time for no charge and give numbers for towing services. Whenever we head back up there for skiing, my family and I have already decided. We will definitely be trying to stay there again.

Beautiful location, and the cabin was nice overall. Great hot tub and view! The hosts were very responsive to some issues such as the washer not working (fixed promptly though) . We had a great time skiing and hiking. The place could use some upgrades such as new appliances. Could also use a deep clean.

We had such a wonderful stay at this cabin in Waynesville! It was the perfect mountain getaway and exactly what we were hoping for. The cabin was incredibly cozy, clean, and welcoming, and it had everything we needed to feel right at home.During our stay we went snow tubing nearby, which was such a fun highlight, and we loved exploring the area. One of our favorite little surprises was finding a spot down the road selling fresh eggs on the honor system—such a charming touch that made the trip feel even more special. We also spent time antiquing around town and found some great little shops. The location was ideal—peaceful and relaxing but still close enough to everything we wanted to do. After busy days out exploring, it was so nice to come back to the cabin and unwind. We truly had a great experience and made some really special memories here. Would absolutely recommend this cabin to anyone looking for a relaxing mountain escape!

The price/value of this cabin is great. Beds are comfortable, views are amazing. Easy driving access which is not be underrated. Geoff and John (owner/manager) are so great to work with, accommodating and helpful. Rental was very clean and hot tub was a nice extra. Kids enjoyed the air hockey and wifi worked great and appreciated the free long distance as cell service is bit spotty. We would recommend this a perfect for families.

We wanted to find a quiet mountain cabin with a view and proximity to the Cataloochee side of GSMNP, and this place served our needs very well. Close enough to town and interstate, but seemingly far enough from civilization to allow us to unplug and rest.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback, Marie. We sincerely apologize for the delays you experienced with the water and for any inconvenience this caused. We’re glad the water issue was resolved during your stay, and we also provided the correct WiFi information once we were made aware of the issue. We appreciate your notes regarding the furniture and the odor; these have been shared with our team for review and action where necessary. We also understand the challenges of the remote location and phone service in the area, and we appreciate your patience. We hope to have the opportunity to host you again and provide a smoother experience next time.
We enjoyed our stay, beds were comfortable. House was very clean. Water pressure was great. Hot tub was awesome. Management of property was very responsive by text. A suggestion would be to get a window unit for the upstairs bedroom as we had to keep the downstairs uncomfortably cold to cool down the upstairs. Also we requested a remote control for the upstairs loft TV and it was dropped off the next morning, but we had to spend 45 minutes of our vacation time trying to connect it as it was kinda complicated for the old TV. It would have been nice if it would have been done for us is all. Thank you for opening your home.

Everything you want and MORE!
Yes, this cabin has all the wonderful things you are looking for in a cabin, but it also has ALL of the things one may not consider needing! Let's start with a flat driveway. This seems simple, but when passing other cabins with drive ways that went straight up or down you soon realize this is a luxury! The wrap around deck with the mountain views is perfect for sun or relaxing in the shade anytime of day. The cabin is spacious & very clean. The jacuzzi was a nice ending to a long day of exploring. John ,the leasing agent, already had the jacuzzi freshly filled and heated to temp upon our arrival. Last but not least I must mention the kitchen. It is well stocked with ALL of the things you may need. We were so excited to find the skewers for the fire pit. I had brought wire hangers to make our own, but we were covered thanks to the well-thought-out preparation of the owners Geoff and Laura. Overall this experience from booking our stay to checking out was a pleasure. This cabin is truly a "GeM"! We look forward to returning in the fall. Thank you Geoff & Laura for sharing your "Mountain GeM" with our family!

Thank you, Virginia, for your thoughtful and detailed review! We’re so glad to hear you had such a wonderful experience at the cabin and appreciated all the little touches, like the flat driveway, mountain views, and well-stocked kitchen. It’s great to know the jacuzzi was a nice way to unwind after your explorations, and we’re thrilled that you enjoyed the fire pit skewers. We look forward to welcoming you back in the fall and are so grateful for your kind words!
I did not stay at the property because the TV was not working..no signal. The furniture was soiled and not pleasant. The closets were full of junk and equipment for cleaning the house. I did not want to put my nice clothes in the closets. The home is outdated. Nevertheless, we did not stay. As soon as we got there, I called the local folks who stated they could not get someone out there to try to fix the TV. We had traveled a long way and were tired but did not unpack...we left and stayed at a hotel in Asheville which was clean and everything worked. The avantstay person I spoke with was not empathetic. He stated I would not get a refund for the reasons I had stated. I am sorry but if the TV does not work, the furniture soiled and closets full of junk where you could not put your nice clothes that is not acceptable to me.
The cabin was very nice, comfortable, and plenty of room. Layout was great for a large family.Only negatives were secondary bedrooms the mattresses were terrible, there wasn't a separate bathroom for the master, and the stairs going up of the driveway are sloped, very difficult to navigate. Need replacing.
Great property, well maintained and clean. Newer dishwasher would be a plus, and better kitchen pots, pans and knives would be a plus, but over all a great stay. Would definitely return.

The road leading to the house has many potholes for the first quarter drive up the hill. So, beware if driving a car up the road after dark. Obviously, this is not the owners fault. Otherwise, we enjoyed our stay.

What a lovely, quiet mountain home at the top of a very high, long paved road, with a gorgeous mountain view! The home is well equipped with all the comforts needed, and a great hot tub, fireplace and fire pit. The night skies are so starry! It is central to all of the fun things that WNC has to offer- Maggie Valley (the cutest mountain town), Cherokee- to see elk and turkeys- Bryson City for a train ride, and Ashville for dinner and a few cold ones. And also some of the best hiking imaginable. Go climb Rockwater Knob for a nice, somewhat challenging hike, and some absolutely incredible views at the peak! Can't wait to come back to this Gem!
Location and cabin was perfect for our families planned activities in the area. We would not hesitate to stay there again. Thanks again

Thank you for staying with Pure Carolina. We are sorry to hear that you had difficult time getting to and from the property. There are 2 different ways to get there, one of which is completely paved. As far as the air conditioning, we were not aware that is was not working properly until after you departed. We do wish you had let us know that and we would have worked on getting someone out there right away. It is currently being replaced with a new unit. In all of our homes we provide hand soap in bathrooms, we do not provide personal care products, such as shampoo or body wash. We apologize if this was an inconvenience to you. We also do not provide wood for the firepit. There are several places nearby that you can pick some up to use. Our home is serviced several times a year and we have spoken with our service in regards to your seeing roaches. Thank you again for bringing these things to our attention. We hold ourselves to high standards and have addressed each of this issues for our future guests, we apologize that you did not experience this during your stay.
