We had a great time for 9 days at Ribera Mar. We did not realize it was Semana Santa when we booked so the final weekend was a little noisy but all and all the accommodations, location and staff we're all wonderful. Big shout out to Chef Danni for the keeping us fed and the amazing meals.

Family vacation

Family of 6 first time in DR. Check in was a little rough with miss communication and some issues at first but once in the villa the place was amazing. Everything was VERY clean and the staff was very nice and helpful. Chef Danny did a great job with breakfast and our concierge was very good at responding to our questions. The beaches were beautiful and very few people- almost like you had it to yourself. Felt very safe the entire stay. Had we had a better check in without the missed communication we would have rated this higher. Not sure where the miss communication occurred- may have been VRBO vs BRB but we felt like we missed out on vital information and traveling from out of the country, this did cause some stress.

Very nice time at Ribera Mar. Good communication both before arrival and during our stay with staff. Special thanks to Maria who was always there to assist with our needs- going above and beyond to make our stay very pleasant. Chef Dani and Lani prepared two exceptional meals per day and were eager to help in any way possible. Great time in the DR and Ribera Mar.

Great spot in Las Terrenas

It was just as advertised. Service was excellent, location was good. Driving is crazy, so we walked or taxied everywhere. Nice beach bars/restaurants nearby. Ask for Leo at Sol y Mar! Town is fairly small, no buildings over 3 stories. Dieceocho was excellent restaurant in town.

Wish we never had to leave! This is our third time staying here, and we moved from the two bedroom to this incredible condo. This is our second time booking this duplex. Location n unit are excellent! Owner very responsive when booking. There was a double booking situation on days I added. Owner upgraded us to much bigger house beach/ocean front. Excellent for 10 plus people. While amazing we prefer our duplex for family of 4. Lady years concierge was mi h better. More responsive n faster response. More attention to detail. More thorough n helpful. Person on premises at our intended duplex Jendry was great.

Wonderful relaxing stay

We had a wonderful week at Las Terrenas. The beach is incredibly beautiful and only a 2 min walk from apartment past the big pool. We loved the serenity of the place, no big hotels, a few beach shacks to get good lunch, otherwise a lot of nature and not a lot of tourists. Everyone was friendly, helpful and attentive. Dany the chef made us breakfast every day and dinner twice - highly recommend him. The only thing to note is that there is no supermarket close by but they help you stack the fridge or there is a delivery app that serves the apartment as well. All very easy and quick. Very happy with our choice and just how naturally beautiful this place is. We had a great trip and so did our three kids (ages 3-10). Waves were perfect for them and not too strong. Highly recommend this place

Perfect property!

We visited Las Terrenas during a couples trip to Dominican Republic and couldn't have selected a better place to stay. The villa is very neat and clean and the staff takes very good care of guests. Everything we requested was in place when we arrived. Chef Danny is absolutely awesome! We thoroughly enjoyed each meal prepared. The beach is a very short walk as well as a few restaurants. There are more restaurants, clubs and stores a bit further down the road, if you don't want to walk there are cars, golf carts and ATVs available for rent. The staff takes the hassle out of just about everything! Although our children did not join us for this trip, this property is well suited for families. The area is very safe and the people very friendly. We are already planning a return to Dominican Republic, this time with children and Ribera Mar is first on our list for a place to stay!! Thanks so much!!

High expectations met!

Ribera Mar Villa B2 was an outstanding condo. Had very high expectations for the apartment because of the pictures and description. I am happy to say expectations were at a minimum met and in some cases exceeded expectations. The cleanliness was perfect. The communications perfect. Oscar went above and beyond taking care of anything we needed. Chef Danny exceeded expectations-daughters and I do not have huge appetites so we didn’t call on him as often as we would have liked. His cooking is wonderful. The beach nearby was perfect. I would Recommend renting a four wheeler at least a day or two to get around some. Lots of great restaurants within one mile. Only drawback is if you have noisy neighbors ...but that is nothing to do with the condo itself! I would highly recommend this condo!

Beautiful and unforgettable stay!

We had such a wonderful stay here—everyone was so welcoming, and the entire experience was unforgettable. Having Chef Danny here truly made it extra special. He is not only an incredible chef but also taught our teenagers some cooking, and was so kind to our family. It was also helpful to have an English speaking concierge available - they helped us arrange safe, reputable services like round-trip airport transportation and ATV/buggy rentals for the week. That gave us so much peace of mind. (We wouldn’t recommend renting a car here—the roads are very narrow, and most locals get around by scooter, which adds to the charm.)A few more helpful notes: the house provides a water cooler and filtered jug replacement, which was great since you don’t want to drink the tap water in the DR. Also unique to the DR is that you don’t flush toilet paper—you place it in the wastebaskets due to the plumbing systems, which took a little getting used to. Also typical that occasionally there are brief power/hot water interruptions, but nothing that disrupted our stay. Washing machine but no dryer, but they provide a rack to dry them outside. Beautiful and luxurious home in a neighborhood with visible security at all times, which was very reassuring - we felt safe there. It was far better than staying at a resort for us because we could immerse ourselves in the culture. We would highly recommend it to anyone looking for something real, beautiful and unforgettable.

Villa Review

Main living/Dining room needs an AC option. Orhers have recommended this. The open space is great but it can get very humid and hot there making it uncomfortable to sit and have dinner at the table. The villa was nice and clean. The rooms had plenty of space but my guest in the lower rooms had to use the bathroom upstairs because their toilets would not flush properly. The chef was really pleasant and on time. Very nice guy who would do anything for you. Only issue here is, you have to open the door for him to come in. So if you had a late night out and wanted to sleep in but still wanted breakfast ready , you would have to wake up early and open the door for him. After he's done , you would have to pay for the purchased goods and sign a voucher etc.... Overall, this was our first villa experience with chef and cleaning included. We had a great time and enjoyed our stay and would do it again. All the things noted are just suggestions and small nuances that can be easily ignored and will not get in the way of anyone enjoying themselves.

The best

My family and I do a lot of traveling and love seeing new places. Normally, I’ll never go to the same place twice…but I am already making plans to come back here! The place is stunning. The pictures really don’t do it justice! The beds are very comfortable and there are plenty of pillows. The balcony and pool are perfect for those moments when you want to enjoy the gorgeous weather but also want to relax at home. The property manager is very friendly, flexible, and helpful. The beach is actually less than 5 minutes away and is gorgeous. Though the town is a bit too far to walk to, we found that we really preferred to stay close. You really don’t need to rent bikes (the bike store is overpriced anyway!) There are little restaurants right next to the beach with fresh, delicious food for lunch. Our favorite was the colorful little one with chickens out front. Speaking of food, the best part of this place is definitely the chef! He is so talented. He made us some of the best food we’ve ever had like, ever! A little advice- bring plenty of sunblock and cash unless you want to hitch a ride on a motorcycle to town everytime you need more. We can’t wait to get back here as soon as possible. Enjoy!

Holidays vacation

This was my second time staying at Villa Ribera Mar. The first time I stayed everything was great. The Villa is beautiful it has a gorgeous view of playa Las Ballenas. The Villa was spotless. Our contact person Maria, was great, very efficient very pleasant and always available and prompt to answer any questions or solve any issues in regards to the Villa. This time I was very disappointed with the service management provided. My contact person Fabiola took forever to answer every time I try to contact her. In two separate occasions, she was off and didn’t bother to let me know that there will be someone else in charge or to give me the contact information for the person.. the first time I try to call her to find out why the cleaning service had not show up, she must’ve thought I was stupid or that I did not read my renting contract. I knew I was supposed to get a cleaning service every day and she try to tell me that guesses really didn’t like to have Cleaning Service every day, who wouldn’t want cleaning service every day. I made it clear to her that I wanted Cleaning Service every day and that , that was what I had pay for and that’s what they advertised . The second time I try to contact her about Cleaning Service not coming that day which was Christmas day. She use the same excuse that it was her day off Christmas day. The Villa was a complete disaster. They were no garbage bags the garbage can was overflowing with garbage from the day before the sink with full of dirty dishes because there was no dish soap there were no clean towels, and Fabiola was no where to be found. When I finally got a hold of her I was furious. I hope my review helps for this issues with management be solved. In a more positive note, Chef Danny was great..

Very friendly staff, dissapointing property, and issues with deposit.

I'll first start by saying the service provided by the Chef, bell hop Franco, and overall staff was great. With that being said, multiple issues with the location and refund. Wifi did not work for the first couple days. We had to use wifi from another villa which was very spotty at times. Cable did not work upon arrival. Jacuzzi did not heat properly at first, needed to be repaired. The fridge did not work properly and did not keep ingredients cold. We had to place beverages in the freezer, watch to ensure they did not freeze. Locks on the bottom unit bedroom needed to be repaired upon arrival which was unsettling as anyone could enter into the Villa if not noticed. TV in the master bedroom had ongoing issues with sound. It would go in and out during the entire time it was actually working. ATV + Golf Cart Rental: One of the ATV's needed to be switched out during our rental, one leaked gas, and the golf cart headlights stopped working. If you do decide to rent this Villa, make sure you do an inventory check of everything in the Villa. We were charged for a broken vase and glasses (only 1 whiskey glass was broken during our rental). We did not receive the full refund back. Apparently, the maid service does an inventory check daily, but we were never informed during the entire rental of any broken items. Also, security let in a gentlemen we met on the beach without our knowledge or permission. Very alarming. Chef Danny was amazing. Great food, great service, would highly recommend if you do decide to move forward with renting this property. Not many other locations near by that you can grab food (unless you drive or take the ATV).

Throughout your stay matters that arose were quickly and easily resolved and you never expressed discontent or discomfort, like the unknowing use of the TV remote, the low temperature setting on the Jacuzzi, the fridge time allowance for groceries to cool, etc., Part of these misunderstandings could have been clarified had we had the opportunity to speak prior to your 2:00am departure. Excellent séjour!

Nous avons passé un excellent séjour en famille! Bel endroit pour les familles quoique les planchers sont plutôt glissants lorsqu’ils sont mouillés. Tout était parfait, les espaces de vie, les chambres, la literie, les matelas, les salles de bain, patio et piscine. Très propres. À part la ventilation manquante au niveau du salon et salle à manger, super condo! Gros coup de cœur pour le chef Danny, excellent service et tout était délicieux! On recommande chaudement

Thanksgiving Week at Villa Ribera Mar

This nice and clean property awaited our small family of three for Thanksgiving week in the Dominican Republic. Even though our Spanish speaking skills are terrible, we had no problem communicating with the residence personnel. All of them are very helpful. We enjoyed the spacious and tastefully decorated interior, the view and easy access to the beach. The beachfront road between Las Terrenas and the villa has many restaurants and bars. During our stay we explored the surroundings a bit including a hike to Salto El Limón and scuba diving. All in all it was a great way of spending Thanksgiving under the sun.

AMAZING

The property left me speechless as expected because I stayed in another one of Lourdes' units in 2019. Everyone on the staff was amazing from Maria, to Guritio, our amazing chef and the rest of the crew. There is one thing to note, there isn't any air conditioner in the common areas. Only the bedrooms. There also isn't any are in the office. I would have rather much stood outside vs sitting in the office discussing things with Maria. I would advise the property manager to add air units in both locations as we were not able to enjoy the sitting area and mingle with each other.

Nice Villa

The Villa is nice…. It’s relaxing. It’s a very quite place. It was my mom, myself and husband and my 2 kids (6 & 9). My kids enjoyed the pool. Be mindful that when playing music even though it may not be loud it echos and people are sensitive. The chef was very polite and professional. The concierge was ok. A few things I may say: The TV in the living room was not working. One of the bedroom on the lower level sliding door didn’t lock. The AC on both bedroom lower bedroom didn’t cool. Maybe a welcome packet of location and supermarket would be helpful. The wifi worked except the day of check out.
