Absolutely the most beautiful place to stay! The property was so clean, beautiful setting, clear water. Everything was perfect! Would definitely recommend this place!
We had a wonderful stay. The cabin is roomy , clean and comfortable. Beautiful views especially in the fall. Lots to do in the area with wineries, cideries, breweries and restaurants along with shopping , hiking and water sports. Our hosts were easy to communicate with and friendly.

Thanks for the great review! You are a great guest and I hope you'll make your way back! Book directly with me next time to save some $$. :) Enjoy your fall!
This was the perfect cozy cottage for our family’s summer vacation on the lake. Very spacious. 3 season room was perfect for our kids to have their own wing of the house. Michelle was excellent with communication. We look forward to staying here again!
Home was supper clean and roomy. Bed was comfortable. Nice plus. The weather was great, the lake felt great and fishing was fun. You can’t get any better than that. Thank you!!!
Convenient location for exploring all the surrounding towns. The house was very comfortable and well equipped. We did miss not having AC when the temps climbed above 90 - those beautiful windows facing west bring in lots of late day sun! But thankfully there were several fans throughout the house.

Hi Sandra! I just sent you a message to ask you about the heat that weekend! I was the hottest weekend of the summer - at least there was some wind too! I am so glad that you enjoyed it and I hope you'll think of your weekend fondly - hopefully cooled off in the lake. It can be a memory you retrieve if you are in a cold location in the winter? :) Come back anytime! Have a great fall!
We had a wonderful experience and will definitely be back. We loved the simplicity and solitude of the cottage and surrounding area. We would love to come back with some of our little nieces and nephews so they could play in the lake. My mom loved being able to bring her dog too. Eventhough the weather was unseasonably cold, playing cards at the table with that view was still relaxing. The cottage was perfect for us.

Classic “Old School” Leelanau cottage with ALL the amenities!
We loved our stay at this classic North Lake Leelanau home! It has everything you want/need for your stay Up North! The accommodations were very clean upon arrival and while decor hasn’t been updated in awhile, there is no need as we spent the majority of the time on the deck, dock and by the fire pit at night! The fact that there is excellent internet and satellite TV made the few rainy evenings very “modern!” The home is in a great location. Close to many wineries, bars, restaurants and breweries. This is our favorite vacation area for the past 40 years and this is a home I would definitely rent again in the future.

Thanks for the review! We are so glad that you chose this spot for your vacation! Come back and see us in the fall! Autumn colors are a knockout - the water is still warm enough to swim - the crowds are gone .... it's our secret summer!
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this comfortable, well-maintained cottage. Though it’s close to tourist sites and amenities such as Sleeping Bear Dunes, Leland, and Sutton’s Bay, it’s hidden down a quiet road away from traffic. Front yard slopes gently to the lake; there’s a fire pit for cool evenings and a large deck for enjoying sunsets. Inside, the cottage has comfortable furniture, a well-equipped kitchen, and lots of space. Water is safe for drinking and tastes fine, but smells bad. Hardly a deal-breaker, though, for a spot this lovely.
The house is in a great location to see all the sights of the Leelanau Peninsula. It was very clean. It was really nice to be able to bring our dog with us. We enjoyed sitting out on the deck and relaxing, as well as exploring the sights.
Stunning lakefront backyard, but lacking some basics
It’s very hard to find lakefront rentals in Leelanau, so to find one on Lake Leelanau was a dream! The deck, fire pit, dock and lakefront property made for a fantastic stay. However the house itself could use some more basic amenities expected when renting properties. The house was clean which was great. And the kitchen was well equipped, however I didn’t read the PDF of rules closely enough to realize that you need to bring your own bath towels and that many other items are missing: like toilet paper (only one roll is provided). The well water smelled like eggs, too, so it would have been nice to know in advance to bring bottled water. I should have read more closely, but also these things should be made more obvious on VRBO. Thankfully we had beach towels to use and there was a grocery store nearby! The location of the house is wonderful: 10 min from suttons bay and 10 min from Leland, which is fabulous. With a little more amenities (and some bed and bath updates) this house would be amazing!

Detailed instructions and information is given out to guests in advance of their stay which tells the guest that bath towels are not provided. There are also detailed pictures online which show that this property is not modern, but is a cottage. A VERY CLEAN one. Bed linens, kitchen towels, and a hand towel in each bathroom is provided. We provide 2 rolls of TP in each bathroom, and a roll of paper towel, but had a problem with guests taking all of the TP and PT upon departure. We used to provide towels, but guests took them to the beach and stained them with blood. It was gross and we are a small company that strives to keep prices competitive and properties ULTRA clean. We aren't a huge rental agency.
The water does smell like well water from a filled in swamp by the lake, which is common on Lake Leelanau since that is what most cottages are.... but we flush the well regularly and it is safe to drink and shower in. We would be happy to provide a $5 case of water if requested.
This home was exceptionally clean and comfortable with nice access to the lake. The inside is a bit dated but the neatness and functionality made it a place we would definitely return to. Appliances, laundry, WiFi in great working order and the location was ideal.

Thanks Barbara! Yes - we agree that the cottage is dated. LOL We love it's functionality, no fuss personality and its cottage charm. We hope you come back to visit soon!
Gracious host. Michelle was very accommodating
The house was absolutely beautiful. The big window overlooking Lake Leelanau gave us a beautiful site both in the morning and at sunset.
I would definitely recommend this home.
We loved our stay at this property and look forward to returning! House is very roomy, and comfortable. It was super clean - something we are picky about. Location is perfect - central to so many Traverse City and Sleeping Bear Dunes attractions. We highly recommend!

Thanks for the feedback. I did see your note and left you a voice mail message. We did have the well company come out and they fixed the issue. It was a simple process of chlorinating the well and then flushing it out. The water does not smell any more (and has always been safe.)
We hope you enjoy the rest of your summer!
Michelle
This property is a "no fuss" cottage in the perfect location on Lake Leelanau. Close to all of the neighboring towns - central location. This cottage is dated but very charming and clean. This cottage has well water and a septic system which is sensitive to large amounts of waste water so maximum number of guests is 8.
What makes this property unique
Private road perfect for peace and quiet - paved driveway. Nice swimming area and ladder on dock.
