About this property

Cliff View Casita- Wild, beautiful and serene small town near Sedona

About this space
This “Cliff View Casita” is the kind of place where Zane Gray would have written one of his books in the unique Southwest. We have glorious cliff views with sunsets and sunrises, which will take your breath away. It is where Vincent Van Gogh may have chosen to paint the starry night and the wheat field in seven different shades if he had lived in America. There is something "wild" about this place - such beauty and serenity here!
Please check out our new "Cliff View HACIENDA" upstairs also!
The space
This Casita has such an amazing view (I hope you think so too), overlooking mesquite trees and cliffs that stand over the Verde River valley. The views are visible from the bedroom window and through the French doors of your own living room and there's private outdoor seating on the veranda patio area, where you can enjoy cold drinks in summer or hot tea or hot chocolate in winter. Welcome nature lovers, perhaps you'll get a visit from the javelinas, a bunny rabbit, or a roadrunner!

This unit is all downstairs; we, as hosts, live upstairs. This Casita has a bedroom with a king size bed, a private bathroom, living room, a kitchenette (not a full kitchen- has a small refriger/ freezer, a rice maker, a coffee maker, microwave oven, convection oven, electric water heater, plates, bowls, utensils Etc. & Barbeque grill out on the patio. There's no sink to wash dishes except in the bathroom (dish rack and soap under sink). We are sorry that there's no sink for the dishes, but we know some guests really appreciate at least having the option to prepare simple meals with some basic cooking items. We have many who cook almost all the meals here or barbeque every night. If you don't want to wash dishes, you'd need to bring your own disposable plates & cups just like at a motel.

You may hear some noise from upstairs once in a while as we need to live and breathe. We really try to keep our noise down as much as possible. Most of our guests say it is very quiet here. But, if you think not, let's work together to make this a win-win situation! We don't mind if you call or text me, and I will also let you know if you may have music too loud or something. It is unrealistic to think that you will hear no sound at all.

Our central heating/ cooling is difficult because everyone is different, but most people have said the temperature was just right. when it is too warm down there, then it gets too hot upstairs. Yikes- it is not easy to try to please everyone.

Great hosts. Great town. Comfy bed. We love the cat that lives in the area. I believe that cat had abilities beyond our understanding which was a bonus.

We loved our stay at the beautiful Casita! The view from the porch is breathtaking, as are the stars at night. The space is very comfortable, amenities are generous, and there is art everywhere. Finally our host was so very gracious. We can't wait to come back!

Location location location

The casita was great, everything we needed and so much character with the decor. Wish my trip was longer so I could hang outside in the hammock.. We happen to stay during Verde Days, we were able to walk to the festival and to dinner each night from the casita! Everything was super clean, no problems!

Awesome Cliff Views

This property is nicely tucked out of the way. It is cozy and well-decorated. It is a shame I didn't have more time just to hang out at the place. I will consider it my first choice when booking my next trip back to the Verde Valley.

You are a wonderful guest! I would say about you- It was our pleasure to have John with us. I sensed kindness in him. We love having guests like him - friendly, respectful, easy-going, and good with communication, and he left our place clean.

lovely cassita

We only stayed one night. wish we could have stayed longer. The property is lovely, clean, unique and comfortable. We walked down a dirt path to our room. I recommend anyone with difficulty walking ask for the upper level casita

So glad you were here! Yes, this is such a beautiful place! I am so sorry you had a hard time walking. I just wanted to clarify for those who may be concerned, the path is on a slight slope, only a few steps to the door; it is literally a minute walk (40 feet), to the door. ☺️

Adorable and Amazing place

Out stay at the Cliff View Casita was so peaceful and amazing. Totally loved the vibe of the Casita. The view of the Cliffs was just spectacular. The two nights we were there were clear skies. We spent time on the hammock just watching the stars. Given that Camp Verde does not have the light pollution bigger cities have, the sky was lit up with stars. It was so beautiful and peaceful. Millie and Tom and are great hosts. Millie was very responsive to my queries before we even showed up there. The Casita was clean and has all the basic amenities for a weekend getaway (or longer). I'll be definitely be booking the Casita again next year.

Nice view

Was very quite and comfortable place. Had all the amenities you need and a great view from the window. We had a little mix up in which unit we rented. We rented the lower less expensive unit but we were given access to the better unit on top that costs slightly more and the owner, realizing her mistake half way through our stay, let us know and gave us the option to stay there at no extra charge. We were more than happy with the unit and decided to stay. She was very accommodative. Although we did not stay in the unit described, based on the owner's hospitality and the unit we stayed in, I'm confident the other unit would have been nice too.

Nice view, couple of issues

The view on this property is lovely, the owner is nice, and the bed is comfy. That said, there was a large shard of broken glass and a rusty nail on the patio, where my kids were walking barefoot. One of the steps to the gazebo is broken and there is a very large pile of cat poop down there, so the gazebo was off limits. You can also hear everything going on upstairs, so I was awoken very early by that noise.

So glad you thought the view was lovely. Thanks! What you thought the large pile of cat poop is actually probably javalina poop- yes this is a bit of wild place. 😊 And sometimes, a family of javalinas go through my gazebo & garden and eat my flowers and have broken things, but this is rare. I checked the patio before you all arrived but I did not see the rusty nail- I am so sorry. And most all of our guests upstairs are quiet and considerate.

Just what I needed

This is a cozy little place with a serene yet energetic view of the nearby cliffs. It is tucked away so it feels secluded. While it is not "updated", it is decorated well and has many amenities. The bed is super comfortable! It has a little "kitchen" area which is ok for reheating food or making simple dishes. As it says in the listing, there is no stove nor kitchen sink. Probably the most challenging part of the stay is washing dishes in the bathroom sink, but it is doable. The upstairs unit is also a rental (Millie and Tom live next door) and you do hear noise from the renters, so if you are looking for complete silence, this might not work for you. It didn't bother me. The price point is really unbeatable, especially on VRBO which doesn't have as high fees as it's competitors. Millie is very sweet and I wish that I had had more time to chat with her about her life. I would stay here again.

We loved the place. It is evident the hosts work hard to accommodate their guests and enjoy hosting. It was a great little place and we would absolutely stay again! The listing does say there is a washer and dryer. It is on site, but it is not in the unit. Just might want to plan ahead for that.

Yes, W/D is in the garage, only about 10 steps away from your parked car. Perhaps, I need to take this privilege away and have our guests drive over to the local laundry mat where they have to pay for washer & dryer and also laundry detergent.🤔
