The host was responsive and the property was very clean. It was fully stocked with most necessities including soap, paper towels, toilet paper, linens and towels/washcloths. The property accommodated my family very well.
Check in and out was easy, place was very clean, well stocked with essentials, easy walk to metro to downtown. Parking in the back was convenient, however there was lots of trash around. We ( 3 adults, 2 children) found this VRBO very comfortable, and enjoyed our stay and would highly recommended staying at the Prince of Park View!
The host was very responsive to questions, it was an easy check in and check out. The accommodations were very nice, very clean and perfect for the occasion.
The check in was straight forward and easy. The inside was neat and clean and very much like the pictures provided. I did not give 5 stars for cleanliness due to the trash in the basement stairwell, but that may have been due to the recent storm. The ally parking is kind of tight and the outside ally view is not much to look at. It was a quiet neighborhood but not a lot of choices for sit down meals; we mostly had to drive for everything. All in all it was a good trip and I would stay there again.
We had a wonderful stay! The property was very clean and comfortable for my family of five. It accommodated us very well for the entire week. We had private parking at the back for our vehicle and a small UHaul trailer. We had no problems and the neighbor Ms Jessie was very nice. We will definitely stay here again!
We had a great stay. The house was very clean, and well kept. There was plenty of toilet paper, paper towels and soap which we appreciated. The grandson loved the bunkbeds. The metro was a few minutes away which was so convenient, especially after a long day of walking. Freddie was so good to work with and responded quickly. He went out of his way to make our stay comfortable.
Beautiful interior and perfect location near the Metro, walkable to Howard University, nearby Safeway. It was the perfect location for my family to stay for graduation. We will stay again if the need arises!
We had the best time visiting. It’s difficult to find hotel accommodation for a big family with a large gap in children’s ages; our stay here met all of our needs. Plenty of space, very clean, and all the extras we could’ve needed. Very close to the metro which is a huge plus. Check in and check out were a breeze! I really appreciated being able to get in touch so easily with questions. I would recommend this place to anyone!
We had a lovely stay. The property was clean, cozy, and close to the Washington DC activities and attractions. Our host, Freddie, was kind, friendly, and responsive.
We would definitely stay again and recommend to friends or anyone staying near DC.
We agree with the other reviews - clean and convenient to the metro station. Freddie was responsive when we needed sheets for the sofa sleeper. The selection of games and books in the living room cabinet was appreciated, as we're the umbrellas!!
Freddie was very helpful with a birthday dinner recommendation for our family. He also let us know that he would come and fix something while we were out exploring the city. The house was clean, and had architectural charm. Only being a block from the metro station was a huge perk, and we utilized it often to get to all the places in DC that we wanted to visit. Highly recommend!
The house was clean. Metro station was a 3 minute walk. We never felt unsafe in or around the house. Freddie answered my questions within minutes of me messaging him. We will stay there if we return to DC.
Everything was amazing. The property manager was so nice since the beginning. The house was perfect. We absolutely love it. Thank you

About the host

I am a native of nearby Silver Spring, MD. I love running, meeting new people (and podcasting ;-), exquisite cuisine--be it cooking at home or dining out--and, of course, traveling. Over the years, I have visited numerous countries throughout Europe, Asia and the Caribbean. I am also a fan of the arts; I enjoy the cinema, live performances (music, comedy or otherwise) and festivals of all kinds.
Why they chose this property
We are located in the Park View neighborhood of Washington, DC, only a short two-block walk from the Georgia Avenue-Petworth Metrorail station (GREEN & YELLOW Lines). A quick ride on the Metrorail is all that separates guests from enjoying all of DC's national landmarks like the National Mall, the Smithsonian, Washington Monument, White House, Lincoln Memorial, the U.S. Capitol, Supreme Court, Library of Congress, U.S. Botanic Garden, Arlington National Cemetery or even the cherry blossoms around the Tidal Basin.
Come nighttime, the house is less than a block away from the vibrant restaurants and bars of the Georgia Avenue corridor (featuring a wide-ranging selection of cuisines) and walking distance from the illustrious HBCU, Howard University. Restaurants and hotspots in Dupont Circle, Georgetown, 14th Street, U Street, Shaw, Penn Quarter, Gallery Place, H Street and Union Market are less than a 20 minute Metro-, Capital Bikeshare- or Lyft/Uber-ride away. For the culinary-inclined, we are conveniently located 3 blocks from a Safeway (regional grocery store) and roughly 1mi from Whole Foods.
Additionally, the house sits at the nexus of several popular neighborhoods/points-of-interest, including Howard University (to the south), Columbia Heights (popular neighborhood to the west, with Rock Creek Park situated just beyond), Petworth (to the north, featuring the Upshur Street stretch of popular local restaurants) and the Old Soldier's Home to the north (from which, fun fact, the Park View neighborhood derives its namesake ;-).
The nearest Metrorail station to the house is Georgia Avenue-Petworth on the GREEN & YELLOW lines--less than two blocks from the house (~2-3min walk). Georgia Avenue is a primary north-south thoroughfare in the city along which numerous bus lines run and typically have headways between buses of 5-10 minutes. Additionally, for those who do not feel like walking, there are several Capitol Bikeshare locations within the immediate area.
