Liked: Check-in, communication, location
It sits very close to the creek in a shady spot which was great for sitting in the creek and relaxing. The furniture is a bit out dated and worn. The WiFi was extremely slow. We were a bit frustrated with the fact that we were responsible for taking trash to the trash facility down the road. Also that the trash facility is closed on Sundays so you are supposed to take trash with you if checking out on Sunday. The booking process and payment process were extremely easy as was getting into the cabin upon arrival.

Stay was great.Had great time sitting on deck and stream. Never used the hot tub. Needs a little TLC, cleaning, and clotter out of closets and dressers.. Needs to cut the shrub back at the driveway. washing off deck wouldn't hurt. Nice place other than that.
The cabin was clean, and just as pictured online. It was stocked with everything we needed for our trip. The location was great. We were able to walk our dogs not just on the property, but also on the road with no trouble. Sitting out on the deck listening to the creek was really nice, especially on mornings when weather was such that we could take our coffee out. Dennis was easy to work with from booking to the trip. We would recommend this property if you are looking for a cozy cabin with peaceful surroundings.

I'm glad you enjoyed your visit and hope you will be able to return sometime.
Beautiful cabin on the creek! Had everything you needed and more. Communication with the host was amazing. Loved how everything was labeled and instructions were clear. Almost felt like I was in my own home. The only drawback to our stay was the mattress could use an update. Definitely plan on coming back in the warmer months.

Thank you for your kind comments and I hope to see you again!
The place is magical. We rarely left the property because it was so relaxing. We hung out in the creek, enjoyed the hot tub and had our meals outside. Can’t wait to come back.
The cabin was so nicely stocked, from the kitchen to the bathrooms to the laundry room. The rushing stream so close to the cabin made for the most glorious sound! The bed (we only used one) was incredibly comfy as well. In addition, having cable TV made it possible to watch important college football games-yay! The hot tub was so clean and added to the all the relaxing features of this cabin. The host was easily and quickly available when we had any questions.
Perfect getaway for my sister and I to relax, hike and get back to nature. Great space inside and out. Close to anything you need, yet far enough away for privacy and remote retreat. Comfortable cabin, with the perfect covered porch for morning coffee, and quiet time. The sounds of the creek, the Hot Tub after a day of hiking is everything you could want. Great tips from our Host on waterfalls, and hiking spots. If you’re looking for a wonderful mountain getaway this is the spot.
This property has great potential. When we arrived a dog was in the driveway. He stayed the entire stay. On the porch day and night. Kept my dogs in chaos the entire stay. We could not sit outside, enjoy the hot tub or the stream. He was so pitiful. No collar, ticks all in his ears, etc…. So so sad. I called and messaged owner. I was told to run him off. Throw a stick at him….. Again, sad…. My husband spent the week dealing with a dog. Then, first night, we were so tired from travel and I went to kitchen to eat. YIKES!! The floor was horrible! There was a cockroach on the counter with a sack hanging out of it and a cockroach box ON THE KITCHEN COUNTER with bugs in it! There was bleach cleaner there so I had to sweep the kitchen and bleach the counters! The kitchen floor has NEVER been moped. It is gross to say the least. A candy dish on the dining table in the kitchen with Christmas candy in it that has been there MONTHS. Melting and gross and a bag of popcorn that expired over a year ago. The cabinet of full of opened sugar, food, yuck!! No wonder this place has roaches!!! It is gross!! The lights in the kitchen were burned out so we found bulbs and changed them. The washing machine smelled so bad that I tried to clean it before we washed our clothes. In the guest book there was a lady in April that had the same problem with the roaches. We left early and came home!!! We should be refunded 1/2 this stay at best! Not 1 night cause we left early.
Loved our stay! Owner was responsive. Amenities were thoughtful. Very peaceful at the property. Would stay again.

About the host
Hosted by Robert D Scott
I am Dennis Scott and have owned the property at 51 Kingfisher Lane for about 15 years. During that time, it has been a very popular place for many people to enjoy. After living in Murphy for about 10 years I moved to Panama City, Florida but will be moving back to Murphy in 2024. It is a beautiful area and I will be making it home again. As an avid motorcyclist and Western North Carolina offers excellent riding opportunities, I look forward to enjoying the great riding. I hope you will stay at this wonderful cabin and see for yourself the many wonders of Murphy and all it has to offer.
Why they chose this property
Murphy is convenient to Atlanta, Asheville, Chattanooga and many other areas of interest. After growing up in Atlanta then living in Cullman Alabama, after being discharged from the Marines, I moved to Panama City. Looking for the place to retire, I have moved back to Murphy to enjoy all the area has to offer.
What makes this property unique
At 51 Kingfisher Lane, pets are welcome since so many people choose to take their pets along for the adventure and to have them close. The cabin is fully equipped with towels, linens, kitchen utensils, books, games, firewood and more. All you need to bring are your clothes and groceries. Davis Creek is about 30 feet behind the cabin so you can enjoy the soothing sounds of the rushing water, wade in the water, pan for gold or fish for trout. If you enjoy relaxing in a hot tub then this is place for you.
