Hana staycation

Clean property, spacious with patio and beautiful garden; easy walking distance to black sand beach; we had family fun cooking and appreciated French press coffee and fresh fruits; after hard days hiking and exploring it was great to come to a home with hot showers; definitely recommend it

Loved the location

We thoroughly enjoyed our 3 nights in Luana Cottage. It was so close to Waianapanapa State park we went there a couple of times, absolutely beautiful. We also had fun checking out all the fruit trees and flowers located on the cottage property. I’m going to recommend this cottage to my friends that want to visit Hana. Thank you for sharing your slice of heaven with us.

Lovely location

A nice house tucked away amid the jungle with a big yard and lots of fruit trees. Even though it's close to the highway, it's quiet most of the time. This was our 2nd visit to this property.

Nice, Quiet Home

Hāna is a lovely place away from any hustle or bustle! We enjoyed the beaches and parks very much. Frisbee in the yard amidst fruit trees was very fun. The home kept us well and well rested with all needed amenities available. Thank you so much!

Great stay

We enjoyed our 2 night stay in Hana very much. The property has all of the features you would expect (nice kitchen, WIFI, cable), and the yard and the fresh fruit are unique and wonderful. When we arrived, there were two beautiful flower arrangements, and all kinds of picked fresh fruit. The state park is minutes down the road. The beaches in and beyond Hana were fantastic.

This house was Clean, private & spacious. Ideal for 4 people. Conveniently located within walking distance to the black sand beach. We enjoyed our stay very much. They have everything you’d need, even a yoga mat which made my mornings even better! Also, we enjoy the location, very Short drive to beaches, restaurants, food trucks & Hana farms.

Excellent comfortable and clean

This is a wonderfully peaceful place. Woke up to birds and the distant sound of the ocean. It's on a "touristy" road and the traffic starts early. Sean greeted us and his local information and fruit were gracious and spot on. There is evidently a kennel of dogs nearby and the group would go off periodically throughout the day. We were out and about or loving our downtime. They only bothered us once. Wish we had booked another night. Truly lovely..

Great place to call home in Hana

We spent Christmas at this home and it was fantastic. We plan to return to Hana and will definitely book again! We have family in Hana and it really felt like our home away from home! Our youngest slept on the futon and said it was really comfortable. The property is lovely and complaints about the road are picky. There are speed bumps on the road that require any traffic down the road to proceed slowly so traffic noise really isn't a problem. One day we forgot to shut down the house as Jody suggested and it was warm when we got home, but other days when we closed up the house in the morning we didn't have any issues with heat in the house. Absolutely beautiful spending mornings and evenings on the deck and a wonderful cool breeze at night. Thank you Jody for sharing your beautiful property and Stacie for the clean home and beautiful flowers (that doubled as our Christmas tree :-))

We really enjoyed at the property had several different fruit trees on property and the owner allows you to pick the right ones and use. We had fresh lemonade, orange juice, and even some Coca-Cola while we’re there. They even had coffee beans available that we used to grind up for our morning coffee. Everything everything‘s so fresh was really interesting. Compared to other states we have done. Location was excellent being so close to the state park and the national park just passed Hana. It made easier access to the trails and waterfalls of the national park passed Hannah. It saved a lot on driving time to allow us to fully engulf in the Hāna experience. The new outdoor shower that was recently added was amazing, it even had hot water out there as well.

Excellent location and absolutely beautiful grounds and gardens.

We spent two nights at the property. We’re so glad we had extra time in Hana. We really enjoyed the covered porch with the nice breeze. The kitchen had everything we needed, and we appreciated the extra touches like having a jar of local coffee and the coffee presses. I was pleasantly surprised by the water pressure and the wonderful hot water from the solar system! And the outside shower was fantastic! If we’re ever lucky enough to come back to Hana, we would definitely stay here again.

A Paradise In Hana

The property was exactly as described. Beautiful large fruit tree garden property within walking distance to Waianapanapa State Park's black sand beach. Home was very clean and well-stocked. The owner's housekeeper left fresh fruit for us on the day we checked in. Owner was very responsive to questions before our arrival.

Wonderful Vacation

This was an incredible house for our family summer vacation. My husband and I have visited Maui before, but this was the first time for the kids and they had an absolute blast. The house is at a great location - close to town and the beaches, and has everything you need for a Maui getaway.

True experience of Maui Paradise

Our only regret for our stay is that we didn’t plan to stay longer. For anyone who wants to experience relaxation in a quiet and lush paradise then Hana is the place for you. The property is beautiful, with a wonderful Lanai (patio) to enjoy breakfast, lunch and dinner. Many beaches within short driving distance and wonderful hikes nearby as well. The black sands beach is walking distance from the property, but you need a reservation to visit, even if you plan to walk there. So book that in advance of your trip. Also, Hana only has a general store and no major grocery chains so we would recommend stopping in the city for any essentials before making the trip to Hana. Would recommend a hundred times over and if we are lucky enough to get to visit Maui again we will definitely be back here.

Comfortable and spacious

This accommodation is centrally located to the town of Hana and the Waianapanapa State Park. The home is beautiful and clean inside with good privacy from neighbors. There are numerous fruit trees on the property (Citrus, avocado, star fruit) and it's a joy to pick. Fresh flowers are on the grounds as well. Wonderful having towels provided for the beach and a clothes washer. Would be nice to have had a bbq though. You are on the road to Waianapanapa State Park, but it is not an easy walk as this road is narrow and has a fair amount of tourist traffic, besides you need reservations whether driving or walking in. I would stay here again.

Quaint cottage and beautiful property

We had a wonderful stay. Great location. Easy drive to Hana town and Kipahulu. Cottage had great amenities- toiletries in the bathroom, fully stocked kitchen, and beach chairs, foam cooler, boogie boards, and beach toys. Very close to Black Sand Beach but be sure to plan ahead and make reservations if you want to go. They won’t even let you go in on foot without a reservation.

I am a part time resident of Maui and could not think of a more wonderful place to call home!
I live on the mainland in Montana when I am not here.

Why they chose this property

While in Hana we enjoy planting and maintaining the various fruit trees we have growing. The property used to be solid jungle. It has taken many years to clear and replant the land. We now can enjoy the hard work and indulge in all the delicious fresh fruit!
The properties in our neighborhood are one half acre and more, so there is plenty of privacy and quiet evenings. Our property is one acre with many plantings to ensure privacy. We have had our lava wall built along the road and a hibiscus hedge that almost grows the length of it. This screens the road and adds to our privacy.

What makes this property unique

The Hana area is a truly unique and wonderful place where you can get away from a hectic pace and recharge!
Fresh fish, fresh fruit and great hiking and beaches along with the welcoming atmosphere, make Hana the perfect get away!

Most morning we take a short walk to Waianapanapa State Park. It is magical walking through the shade of the kamani nut trees to open up to the view of beautiful black lava arches, brilliant blue ocean and striking green plants. The coastal trails are the same the ancient Hawaiians used to travel the island. The walk also winds around the camping and picnic area have all been redone with handicap access to look outs and handrails.
A picture perfect view in any direction!
