About this property
Hana Ocean Palms Bungalows
The Hana Ocean Palms Bungalow is located across from one of Hana's most beautiful oceanfront pools - Waioka Pond (Venus Pool). The property is nestled in a coconut palm grove and surrounded by almost an acre of lush tropical flowers, fruit trees and bamboo. Pick avocados, papayas and bananas and gather vegetables and herbs from the garden. This charming bungalow has all the comforts of home including a fully equipped kitchen, a gas grill for barbecuing, high speed internet access, and a phone for local or long distance calls. The master bedroom has a queen bed and the back bedroom has one double, and one twin bed. The bungalow has two screened porches, one with a hammock for an afternoon nap, and the front porch with a queen bed looking out to the ocean. Fall asleep listening to the sea from the screened porch and awaken to the sound of the wind in the palms and birds singing. Original oil paintings by a local artist, warm natural wood and bamboo, luxurious rugs, and bedding throughout.
The bungalow is about one mile from Koki Beach, famous Hamoa Beach, and three miles from quaint Hana town. It is about a 20 to 25-minute drive to 'Ohe'o Pools ('Seven Pools') in the Kipahulu section of Haleakala National Park. The national park has abundant freshwater pools and waterfalls, hiking trails, and a cultural hike to a restored ancient taro farm.

The peaceful atmosphere in the tropical paradise will be unforgettable, Albert‘s hospitality and generosity in sharing surf boards, fruits, local news etc. And last but not least there is no other beach like Hamoa beach!
We loved the beautiful landscaping and the kids enjoyed all the wildlife (cats). Location is wonderful right next to a short hike to a Venus pool. We loved it and would come again.
We enjoyed being off the beaten path to get an authentic taste of Maui. Cute house, comfortable. Loved being across the street from the lagoon. Overall, very nice stay.
Our stay at Hana Ocean Palms Bungalow was exactly as we hoped for when booking. Close to Venus Pool where we were the only ones there with all the tropical smells, sights, and sounds. Location allowed us to explore more than you can on the drive and return trip,
The place is so charming and very very comfortable!! We loved the time we spent there. As soon as we checked in we all immediately relaxed and were so pleased with the bungalow!! We definitely want to return
Great house with a peek a boo view of the ocean. Amazing location for walking down to the Venus pools and catching the sunrise. Also great location for getting to the Hana hikes and sights before the crowds get there.
Very relaxing and beautiful property. Every aspect was perfect. Great proximity to activities and awesome food nearby as well. A perfect end to a beautiful drive on the road to Hana. Truly a dream come true.
We loved this house! We loved playing games and sleeping on the screened in porches feeling the ocean breeze. We would definitely come back as it was a highlight of our Maui trip
What a lovely place! The house is so nice, beautiful wood everywhere, everything works, gives a very warm “home” feeling! The location is fabulous - just a few miles from Haleakala NP and steps away from the Venus Pools. The owners are really lovely, friendly people!
this is our 2nd time staying at this property- love it so much! Sleeping porch is great, outdoor shower is amazing. Plenty of space for our family of 5! I hope we’ll be back!
Second time staying on this property and will stay again.
This was my second stay at this property and I’d say is the perfect location in Hana. The family loved the house and how it gave us a living in the rainforest being so open. The grounds were fun to explore, the kids loved the friendly cats, 3 minute walk to Venus pools. Comfy beds and a great property manager. Looking forward to staying again.
Our family of four, including two teens, stayed here for two nights during an 8 day trip to Maui. Staying at this house was our favorite part of the trip. We walked to the Venus pool each morning and swam alone and loved how different staying here was from the huge resorts. We will be back for sure.
This location is so perfect, we enjoyed multiple trips to the venus pools and listening to all the creatures at night. We spent hours reading on the front porch bed and listening to brief rainstorms. Heaven. Grateful to our host for showing us all the fruit and coconut trees around us.
This wasn’t the first time I stayed at Albert’s place! I attend to be a frequent renter. The location is is better than great! Although it rained for one of the days we were there, I’m glad I was in that bungalow. Can’t wait to visit again

About the host
Hosted by Albert Zeman
I have traveled and lived all over the world, and moved to Maui some 25 years ago. Though I lived on the other side of the island, where I did landscape architecture and design, Hana always has had a particular draw. Eight years ago after selling an ocean front house I moved out here. I also am a boat captain and offer sailing charters in the summer in the Pacific Northwest and the inside passage. I consider myself an artist, teacher and an adventurer.
Why they chose this property
Hana is unique in all of Hawaii and sometimes called the 'Last Hawaiian Place', Once you brave the beautiful Hana Highway, you will find yourself in another world and unlike the rest of the island feel you are truly somewhere else.
What makes this property unique
Aside from the magic in the land here and the Aloha spirit of the people, most visitors feel this to be a very restful and rejuvenating place. Fresh air, beautiful grounds, great sounds and fragrances. You are surrounded by fantastic walks, close to great swimming, stunning scenery and simple nature. The food is delicious. Fresh fruit and vegetables as well as fish are available year around.
