The Modernist Hotel is a boutique hotel that believes unconventional travel is a thoughtful approach to travel. We merge craft & comfort to offer a set of uniquely curated experiences: amidst one of New York City’s most historically industrial zones, The Modernist Hotel is a plush and posh place to land, housing an art gallery, and featuring some of the most diverse pieces of art—all from New York City residents.
Why they chose this property
The quick access to Manhattan and other parts of New York City is one of the biggest draws of the neighborhood. We are a 2 minute walk from the 39th-Ave subway station (N,W trains) which get you to Central Park in less than 10 minutes, and Times Square in 12 minutes.
What makes this property unique
We are a small-business owned and operated by a family! My mom and I did all the interior design in the building, and my father is our engineer/handyman. Our rooms are abnormally huge for NYC (the city tends to have extremely small hotel rooms), plus we have an art gallery onsite, with art displayed from local artists. A lot of love went into the boutique hotel, so we can't wait for you to feel it when you visit!
