I loved the location! It is just outside Bali, making it central for exploring elsewhere on Crete. Bali is really too commercial and touristy for me, but it was nice to have access to supermarkets and good restaurants within 5 minutes. There are also lots of quieter beaches nearby. The housekeeper was excellent at keeping the house and pool in top condition, and she made sure took a special interest in being certain I always had what I needed.

Thoughtful host!

Stavros was great - waited up for us in spite of our very late arrival on Christmas Eve (really early Christmas morning). He had traditional homemade Christmas goodies for us, which were promptly devoured by my children. The house was great - we could all spread out. Would go back again. Thank you, Stavros, for hosting us.

Wonderful views and modern accommodations

My husband and I stayed here with our two and a half year old son. We had a wonderful time. The highlight of the property was the heard of sheep or goats (we never could decide which) that came through the backyard each night. The view all around was beautiful. The yard was great for our son to run around. We only used the pool once since it was starting to get cool out. The interior was nice and modern. The owner was wonderful and waited for us far past when we thought we'd arrive. We asked about having food when we got there and it was wonderful! We rented a car, which is a must for this property and to see the sights. There are lots of restaurants and markets within 5-15 minutes. Beautiful views everywhere. We took a long day trip down to Elifonisi beach on the southwest coast. It was a long drive, but worth it for the beautiful beach that was very kid-friendly because of the shallow water. Nearby, we explored Melidoni Cave, Rethymno, Panormos, and drove around the mountains. The only slight drawback with a child was the staircase, which was tiled and close to the bedroom our son slept in. Otherwise, everything was perfect. This would be a great place to have a large group rent multiple units, which we'd love to do in the future.
