A little bit bike museum, little bit historic, a little bit chic Euro-modern + we're smack dab downtown Crosby close to everything + short bike ride to Cuyuna trails. Our guests tell us they love The Bike Vault bike-themed atmosphere & touches, convenience and accessibility to restaurants/shops (like right across the street!). If you're looking for a distinctly different VRBO, book your stay now. BONUS: store your bikes in the original 1930s bank vault (oh, so, very secure).

The Bike Vault - Truly Unique
Why do we stand out in a crowd? 1) We are DOWNTOWN (not just close) right in the heart of the Crosby. We're across the street from Rafferty's Pizza and a few steps away from most of the delish restaurants & shops (e.g. Victual). Plus just park your car and walk/bike to trails & downtown amenities.
2)We are probably the coolest MTB-themed VRBO you'll ever stay in. Period. A local craftsman made so many bike-themed pieces that it's almost hard to list them all—a bike gear table, hooks and hangers, artwork, etc. Look around and find your favorite piece.

3) You have access to the entire 2nd floor lofted 3BR apartment that includes modern amenities (glass door fridge, 75" TV, etc.) plus all the wonderful historical elements like high ceilings and 1910 original wood trim, doors, crown molding & transom windows. Our place features a large kitchen/hangout area w/custom live-edge maple plank table, bike library w/sectional seating (+ a pullout queen bed), bikes & books, a large hallway connects the bedrooms offer additional bench seating & storage, full bath w/shower and private half-bath. Stay foot-loose and fancy-free by leaving your bikes & gear (e.g. helmet, shoes, jerseys) locked safely in the main level 1930s original Vault (hence, our name).

Deb and Jay have thought of everything to make this a really cool spot to stay right in downtown Crosby. It was a great spot for our family of 5, more than enough room. Walking distance to almost everything one needs. And so much info on trails to ride and many other things to do.

Pretty much as advertised. If you are a group looking to hit the outdoors during the day and have a clean, quirky, air-conditioned place to stay in downtown Crosby this is a great choice.Location is right in the middle of Crosby, as ideal as you can get in town. The bike trails are a 10 - 15 minute ride away.Check-in and the hosts were great. Everything is labeled and you can tell they put a lot of work into making this a great experience. I fully expect to stay again!Things to know: This a loft above a few small businesses (barber, therapist, investment advisor). The loft is up the stairs on the second floor, while the actual bike storage vault is on the first. There is a bit of a shared hallway between the loft and the vault. Everything locks up, so your stuff is secure. The kitchen, I would call maybe the world's best kitchenette. Big fridge, small freezer, microwave, small oven, toaster, coffee maker, dishwasher. All the other small stuff you might need. There are hotplates to use as a stovetop, but I would not try to pull off thanksgiving dinner here.

Thanks so much for your review! You hit all the high points - our location downtown accessible to restaurants/shops and bikeable to trails. I love your description of the kitchen and agree that it is not a place to pull off Thanksgiving. But perfect for coffee tea (we supply!) and easy lunches/dinners. But why cook when you have great restaurants steps away! Happy to hear you enjoyed your stay and will be back for another stay in The Bike Vault.

Love The Bike Vault!

The Bike Vault was an exceptional place to stay during our family biking vacation! The attention to detail was top notch - comfortable beds, plenty of blankets, coffee and beer, beautiful themed decor that immerses you in biking plus local history information readily available. And you couldn't ask for a better location in the heart of the town with delicious restaurants, shops and bowling! The old bank vault bike storage was super cool and the quick access to the trails is great! We've already got a return trip booked!

Mountain biking heaven

This was our second stay at The Bike Vault this summer and everything was amazing! The attention to detail and the location of the bike vault can’t be beat. Our boys (6 and 8) love the trails (Galloping Goose and Bison Run were highlights), the scenery is beautiful and there are so many fantastic restaurants, the city park has a great beach and playground then there is bowling and pickle ball, to make it a fun family vacation. Looking forward to many more Bike Vault and Crosby visits in the future!

The owners have put an incredible amount of work into customizing this rental. The spaces are well thought out and beautifully /creatively decorated! Location is close to trails and within walking distance to shops, restaurants, wine bar/pubs and the lake. Having bike storage and tools available was an added plus. We enjoyed playing a scavenger hunt set up by the owners to better introduce us to all the memorabilia in the unit.

We love mountain biking (MTBing) and finally rode the Cuyuna trails in 2017 and we were smitten. The 70+ miles of trail were calling our names, so we decided to make our mark and invest in Crosby. We first looked at houses, but ultimately the historic building of 101 West Main (former First National Bank of Crosby) caught our attention. We liked having professional spaces on the main level and saw the cobbled together apartment with all the original woodwork and high ceilings as potential for short-term rental. It happened that the renters moved out sooner than expected, so we started to design & renovate the 2nd Floor space to become a 3BR MTB-themed beauty. While we live 6+ hours away, one of the attractions was that our moms were located along our route, so we could stop & see them everytime we went to Crosby to work on The Bike Vault. We've enjoyed fine-tuning our place for guests and turning them onto everything Crosby offers - excellent MTBing + the mine lakes are AMAZING and provide wonderful opportunities for Kayakers/Stand-Up Paddleboarders/Canoers.

Crosby offers travelers a little bit of everything - access to International Mountain Bicycling Association (IMBA) silver-level ride center Mountain Bike Trails, pristine clear mine lakes, wonderful restaurants and shops - all in a small town setting. Park your car and bike/walk everywhere. Crosby is truly a gem in the upper Midwest.
