The house was very well kept, very clean, lots of space. Having to park on a one-way street, very tight. Being close to where we were going was a plus.
Great Hospitably by the host,
The neighborhood is kind of rundown, but the house itself was really nice and it was an added bonus that it was located within a very short walking distance from the community pool, which costs only about four dollars a person per day.
Row house in a bad section of Shamokin. Would not suggest anyone stay there. Cancelled our reservation immediately, property not close to the description!
I grew up in Shamokin so I understand most of the homes are historically old and many are row houses. The host does a wonderful job of making the home feel welcoming. Loved the decor and fun layout. The bathroom is large and clean with great water pressure; that's always a bonus. ;)
We had a great stay. The house is on a one way street. We never had any issues with street parking. There is also room for one car in the driveway, which is nice. Heads up if you will be there on a Monday morning, you will have to move your car to a different side street due to street sweeping/cleaning. The town is a little run down but we felt completely safe. The house is only a 20 minute drive to Knoebels, which is what we were there to do. We initially had no issues using the code to get into the house. However, be careful not to switch the lock on the back of the smart lock, as it prevents users from entering the code to get into the house. Only flip the switch to locked if everyone is in the house. The door locks automatically when closed. It was really great our dogs could use the fully fenced yard. There was no fire pit as pictured. The living room had ample comfortable seating. The kitchen was well stocked. Heads up, there is no dishwasher. The stairwells are pretty steep, so be careful. The third bedroom with the twin beds is on the third floor. All the rooms and beds were very comfortable. We took advantage of the desk on the second floor as well for some work on the laptop. Overall we had a great stay and would definitely consider staying there again!
