I understand that you may have felt uncomfortable because the neighbor across the street was looking at you as you were pulling into the driveway. It's important to note that this is a diverse neighborhood, and it’s typical for locals to observe new visitors, especially in an Airbnb setting. This curiosity is to be expected and does not indicate any threat. Can you please be more specific about what exactly made you feel unsafe so that we can look into these issues further and potentially address them if possible? As stated in the listing, this property is a duplex located in a neighborhood of duplexes. This is a diverse community that includes all races, religions, and genders. We have had no issues or reports of safety concerns. I have personally stayed at this property with my own family, including small children, and did not feel unsafe in any way. Regarding your concern about the back door lock, this was brought to our attention only after your departure. We are always available during guest stays to address any maintenance concerns. Our doorbell camera shows that you were only at the property for approximately five minutes before deciding to leave. During that time, you were already requesting a refund, which raises concerns about whether you gave the property a fair chance. You did not mention any concerns about the property or surroundings being dirty at that time. You also mentioned in your review that there are no pictures of the exterior and that the property is dirty. We take great pride in maintaining our property, and it is not dirty by any means, inside or out. We ensure regular upkeep, including yard maintenance, cleaning, and pest control, to provide a pleasant environment for our guests. As for the absence of surrounding photos on the listing, it's important to note that taking pictures of neighboring houses is not appropriate, as it can infringe on the privacy of those residents. Our focus is on providing clear images of the property itself. Safety is a top priority for us. If there were specific concerns about the door or any other issues, we would have appreciated the opportunity to address them immediately. As you can see from our reviews on all the platforms where this property is listed, we are always responsive and maintain a high standard for communication. As mentioned on our VRBO listing, it’s important that any issues are reported immediately so we can address them promptly. Unfortunately, as we received no report during your stay, we were unable to assist with this concern at the time. Per your request, we also allowed early check in at no additional charge. Regarding the additional charges, we strive to maintain a welcoming and safe environment for all our guests and neighbors. During your stay, several house rules were not followed, including having undisclosed guests, evidence of a gathering beyond the booking agreement, and failure to adhere to checkout procedures. Additionally, there were reports from neighbors of disturbances, evidence of illegal substance use at property, and the involvement of local authorities. We provided you with evidence of all of this including timestamped photos, screenshot of text message from neighbor, and screenshots of house rule/check out instructions as found in VRBO. We have also obtained a police event ID number of the incident. We’re committed to providing a great experience for all our guests and appreciate your understanding of the need to enforce our policies to ensure this.
