Stunning open-ocean and island views--and privacy too. Welcome to Nettie's Point! Ideally situated for day trips to Acadia National Park, Campobello Island, Canada, and so many more. Enjoy the quiet ambiance of Downeast Maine in this beautiful, well-appointed home. Nettie's Point offers second floor living space with unobstructed views of nearly 5 acres of pristine coastline in the quiet village of Starboard Cove. Stunning views of open ocean and island-dotted horizons. There is a full length porch complete with rockers for early morning coffee in warm weather. While you probably won't want to be out on the porch in January, Nettie's provides its own appeal in winter months. The expansive living room dormer allows you to cozy up in one of the recliners to look down to watch sea smoke on frosty mornings. Radiant heat in the floor allows for bare feet on even the coldest day. Nettie's Point offers a fully equipped kitchen with island and everything you need to prepare your meals. Each bedroom has its own ensuite bathroom. Two bedrooms: one with king bed and one with queen. Small balcony off of master bedroom. Tastefully decorated with southern exposure allowing for sun-filled rooms all day long. Open concept with kitchen, dining, and living space in great room with expansive dormer for an unobstructed views. All linens provided and utilities included. Inside parking for one vehicle in heated garage. Washer and dryer on ground level. Part of the allure of Machias is its obstinate resistance to giving up its local charm. Although you’ll find a large well-equipped grocery store, you won’t find a Wal-Mart. And while you’ll find a McDonald’s and a Dunkin Donuts, you won’t find a Chucky Cheese. There is a Walgreens, bank, several gas stations, and some great local family restaurants that you won’t want to miss! (Our favorite? Coffee and Crisp--a new upscale cafe nearby at West Branch Farms)

This was a very relaxing vacation at a beautiful home in a small coastal town in Maine. The owners were very responsive to questions and there was nothing lacking to make the stay comfortable and easy. The property is breathtaking with an oceanfront view. This was our second year staying at Nettie's Point; we booked again the day after we returned home last year. This property is a relaxing setting with spectacular views, and bold coast beaches right in front of the house. Cozy, with all the modern amenities one could ask for. You won't want to leave! Surreal Property and Location

This property had some of most stunning views of any that I have had the good fortune of visiting. The 2 bedrooms and living room all have just lovely views of the calm ocean. The property itself is so well and thoughtfully equipped, you will not miss any amenity or creature comfort. I cannot recommend this property highly enough. We were lucky to have sunny weather throughout and greatly enjoyed exploring trails near Cutler, West Quoddy head lighthouse and Lubec. The hosts are very friendly, accommodating and a pleasure to communicate with. Cannot wait to revisit.

Five-star Everything!

Beautiful house in a stunning setting. Not just a rental – it's the owner’s summer home. All quality, from the very bones of the well-built house to the bountiful fluffy towels and well-stocked spice drawer. Everything you need in the kitchen (and more!), bathroom for each bedroom (and an extra half), and extremely comfortable furniture and beds—all with great views. As lovely as the house is, the views are the most amazing thing here. We could never get enough of the views in three directions: water, islands, village, fog. (Yes, even the fog is fascinating here.) The hosts are easy to communicate with, gracious, and generous. We didn’t use the television—you do need an account or subscription for many of the options (and, probably, we're just not techie enough to understand how to use it). Wifi is excellent, but cell phones almost useless unless you make calls with the wifi. If you’ve never been to downeast Maine before, this might seem like a long drive; but trust us, it is worth it! And Starboard might seem “far” from the town of Machias, but it really isn’t. Trips to the grocery store or Dunkin were part of almost every day. Views along the way are always changing; enjoy the drive! Only two reasons this house might not be for you: 1. The spaces are most appropriate for 2 people or 2 couples. 2. Living spaces are upstairs, so if stairs are a challenge, this will be difficult for you. There's no place like Starboard; you'll never forget it!
