I did not like the fact You had to pay another $200 just to get linens. I felt like that should’ve been included, but the view was spectacular and the house was gorgeous. I feel like that it could’ve been a little more clean than what it was but overall, we did have a good vacation.

Great location, but the property is ran down.

The location of this house is awesome. The kitchen is stocked well. The property is not well maintained. The oven door handle was broken, the paint and drywall in the house was desperately in need of repair and paint. Many power outlets and a few lights in the house didn’t worm. The house wasn’t cleaned very well. The house didn’t come with any bed sheets, or towels and washcloths. The rug in the living room had a big footprint stain on it. The kitchen table has a sticky finish that you can’t clean off of it. The A/C could not keep up on the one hot day we had. The back porch rail going down the stairs was loose and dangerous to my elderly mother. For the price of this house, it should have been in great condition, but sadly it was not.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We really enjoyed our stay - the location and house are great! Carolina Shores was helpful as well. The only downside is that we didn't have towels (although we reserved them) and didn't get them until the next day. Also, there were plenty of pillows but not enough pillow cases. Carolina Shores was responsive in helping us get both of those taken care of, and towels and more pillow cases arrived before noon on our second day. Location is amazing! Right on the beach, super close to grocery stories, restaurants, etc., and the beach that the house is on is not very crowded. The house layout is fantastic with two master bedrooms that both have second-story decks overlooking the ocean. Just a lovely, relaxing vacation!

Katmantoo in 2022 (and 2023)

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Overall we were quite satisfied with Katmantoo. The general location in Kitty Hawk was perfect and having Oceanfront property even better than perfect. Having each bedroom have its own bathroom was also a plus. The downside was a toaster that needs a serious replacement, a Mr. Coffee that passed away on the second day, and a variety of nails and screws sticking up from various steps and boards on the deck. Tetanus shot anyone? I mean going barefoot is part of the beach experience, right? The last downside items are a sunroom severely lacking in screens, and a fair amount of loose or missing shingles. All in all, we will be back!!

Beautiful Beachfront

Loved staying ON the beach and listening to the waves at night from the decks off the master suites. Could use a little TLC (e.g., screens for the screened-in-porch were missing), and a few more finishing touches could make it an amazing experience (e.g., board games or a table on the porch), but in all it was well worth it.
