About this property
Cabin #6 - Riverfront w/ Gas Fireplace & more!
Cabin #6 is one of the top picks for those looking to see fish or elk from the large deck overlooking the river! This unit has 3 beds and can sleep up to 6 comfortably. New gas log fireplace and HVAC system along with WiFi and YoutubeTV to keep you and your party entertained.
*Up to 2 pets are welcome at this cabin for a fee of $35.
Each of our log cabins has a full front porch just a few feet away from the Oconaluftee River, which offers some of the best trout fishing around. This river is stocked with brown and rainbow trout. Fly fishermen can enjoy the “catch and release” waters with trophy sized fish just minutes away. The cabins line the Oconaluftee River with a view across the river that is forest land with no development. The cabins are separated by full deck areas with privacy fencing in between. This cabin features a large deck with chairs and a swing and great view of the slow moving river. You can see the fish below in these clear waters, and reach it with careful climb down! A small charcoal grill is located in front of the cabin. This river also provides a great place for rafting, tubing, and swimming. This cabin features an open living/kitchen/dining space downstairs along with a primary king bedroom and ensuite bathroom with a tub/shower. Upstairs, there are 2 separate bedrooms; an open queen bedroom and a full bedroom with a door. These rooms feature ceiling fans and utilize a shared bathroom with a tub/shower between them.
We have 6 total hand-built log cabins that are each stocked with kitchen supplies, new couches and bedding, and basic shower/restroom goods. High-speed internet and streaming televisions in the living room as well as main bedroom make sure you don't miss a beat. New HVAC systems and gas fireplace create comfort for all, with automatic settings so you don't have to worry about how to set up. The back of the cabins are just off of Big Cove Road, which has low to moderate traffic and sidewalks into town, food and shopping. We believe you'll find the setting peaceful and enjoyable.

Small 3 bedroom perfect layout for family and friends and the Riveris in your back yard. Host was more than accommodating and nice and attentive to any questions. Great Stay
The host was welcoming and the cabin was very clean and neat. It was the perfect size for our family of 5. The location was great as well. The back porch view set up very nice and had a great view.
Spacious still cozy cabin by the river side with easy accessibility to tourist attractions! With 2 teenagers, the 3 bed, 2 bath cabin felt very comfy! We may plan to stay again during next Fall!
Great clean little cabin on the creek. Very pleasant sitting on the back porch in the mornings. Only drawback is that it is on a busy road and a little noisy at times.
We came to Cherokee as an "Adult Getaway" for a weekend. I must say this cabin is so adorable. It is walking distance to shops and restaurants. I loved how cozy the cabin feels. I will be staying here again soon.
Everything went without any problems. The deck/porch was wonderful. We saw numerous types of birds, elk and river otter just relaxing in the porch rockers.
We had a wonderful stay at cabin 6. Very cozy and appealing. The cabin was well equipped and very clean. It looks just like the pictures. The location was excellent and we enjoyed the view from the deck. We wholeheartedly recommend it.
The house was quaint, which was fine. The biggest issue was the traffic, and with the house being on a slight curve with a blind spot too, backing out onto the road was a little scary
We have been coming to these cabins for several years. They are perfect for an extended fishing trip.We have 9 fishermen in 3 cabins and the deck space is awesome for hanging out by the river. We cook all our meals at the cabin and clean our catch right outside before we have a fish fry.Owners are very accommodating. We will be back again next year.
This was a cute little cabin by the river. We chose it because of the proximity to Bryson City because we were going to the Polar Express. We ended up cutting our stay short because of a sick child. The owner was so friendly and accommodating. The cabin was cute and clean. Had the weather been warmer, I would have loved to sit on the porch overlooking the creek.
I only stayed 3 days 2 nights. I wished I’d booked it longer. I had an issue with the AC so I called the host. The host and her husband came over right away and solved the problem. The AC units are brand new and they do have cold air. Other than that the host is extremely friendly and she treated me like family. Her cabin is beautiful and Clean! I definitely want to go back for at least a week.

Bluebird Cabins is owned and operated by Chris & Cheri McCoy. As a member of the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians, Chris was born and raised in these mountains on the Cherokee Indian Reservation. Chris grew up swimming and fishing in these rivers and hiking these trails. We have a passion for sharing the local culture, nature and relaxing atmosphere!
We purchased these cabins (formerly known as Ol' Smoky Log Cabins) from the original owners with a goal of bringing modern comfort and amenities while keeping some of the rustic charm. No improvements were needed on the location and views!
