The house is in a great location where we were able to walk to everything. The host was available for any questions and gave us great recommendations for places to eat. The house is an historic treasure that worked well for us with our grown children. I don't know that it would be a good fit for young children though. All bedrooms are on the 2nd and 3rd floors, so you may want to pack smaller suitcases rather than a large heavy one. Bathrooms were spacious. We would stay here again.
This was a beautiful home with six large bedrooms. It provided a great amount of space for our big family. The dining room was excellent and accommodated nine adults easily. The sunroom was wonderful in the evening to gather for games. Our two small dogs enjoyed the space in the yard. And it was a very dog friendly neighborhood to walk. Just note that the backyard is not fully fenced. There is a nice grill in the kitchen is wonderful to cook in plenty of space. We would definitely stay here again.
We love Salem and for this trip the weather was perfect and the house was perfect. We loved lounging in the sun room. The location was perfect for walking to all attractions. Loved our stay.

Beautiful house for a large crowd very near town
We had a wonderful weekend in this beautiful house on a lovely historic street, and Rich was an excellent host. Plenty of space for 10-12 of us, plus other guests for dinner. It is a short walk to town for all the shops, attractions and restaurants of Salem.
The home is so amazing. We got lost between rooms! It is so beautiful and true to its history but homey and comfortable. There were 10 of my family, sisters, daughters, granddaughters and cousins for a girls weekend. We spent the wekend in comfort surrounded by an unbelievable ambiance. We highly recommend this home and dealing with Rich was easy and friendly.
It was a girls weekend 10 of us, plenty of room to spread out, or gather together in many of the beautiful rooms. Location was perfect. I would defiantly rent here again. Thank you for sharing your home with us

Thank you so much for your lovely comments. It was a pleasure having you here.
I hosted a witchy themed bachelorette at Rich’s. The property fit 10 of us comfortably, it was perfectly located in a beautiful neighborhood 10 minutes walking to downtown. Rich was very responsive and the check in was quick, easy, and ahead of schedule.
Richard is an amazing host. He answered all of my questions while he himself was dealing with a crisis. The house was immaculate, gorgeously decorated and met all of our expectations! I would recommend to anyone visiting Salem to try and get this house!

Thank tou so much, Carol! You are welcome back anytime!
We could not have enjoyed staying here more. The photos show an elegant and comfortable grand home, but they don’t hold a candle to the reality. The home was so elegant and so comfortable.
We were a group of 11 friends coming for a magical weekend in Salem and the home became the centerpiece of our time (and photo shoot) in the best possible way.
I hope I get a chance to say somewhere this beautiful again soon. Salem was beautiful and this home was a privilege to stay in as we explored her wonderful history.
We were looking for a home that could accommodate my extended family for a weekend that culminated in my son’s graduation from Tuft’s. Close to everything Salem has to offer, this gracious historic home with the fabulous sunroom is thoughtfully appointed and the kitchen/bedrooms/bathrooms had everything we needed. Rich was excellent with communication. He met us at the home when we arrived and we toured the home together while he educated us on its history. He also gave us some very helpful advice about negotiating Logan airport because some of us were arriving late Friday, or recommending nearby restaurants. Check out was easy. We had two Octogenarians in our group and the 2nd floor rooms accommodated them well. We did not have any family members under the age of 21. Everybody enjoyed the home. Salem is such an interesting and vibrant town. It was a wonderful weekend. Highly recommended. Thanks, Rich!

Thank you for your kind words, Betsy. It was a pleasure to meet you and host your family!
Our family traveled to Salem for a wedding. This home is huge. Pictures don’t do it justice. Beautiful antiques, art and carpet. Plenty of room for everybody. The sun room is amazing and so comfortable. Perfect location in Salem for walking around town. The owner lives in the home and meets you at check in to discuss some of the characteristics of the home.
This is my first Vrbo where the owner actually lives there and packs a bag to leave when you arrive. Because the owner lives there it was a challenge unpacking your suitcase and finding space for your items because the dressers were full of personal items. There was a rolling clothing rack provided where you could hang up your clothes in each room. Sometimes I wasn’t sure what items I could use in the house and what things I should not touch. I felt like I was staying in my very friendly uncle’s home instead of a vacation home where I could just unpack and chill out.
Due to the age of the home, there is no central air conditioning. However, there are individual units in each room as well as fans that help keep the rooms cool.
Once I got over my own apprehension about touching things, we relaxed and thoroughly enjoyed the home. I would highly recommend staying here if you are an antique lover or a history lover, because this location and this house cannot be beat.
Our host Richard was very responsive to questions. His home was spotless and just the right size for our sibling retreat during a family wedding nearby. The kitchen and sun porch were our comfortable hang out spots to tell stories and catch up on life experiences. All the siblings raved about the house. Our gracious host and our weekend together.
