About the host
Hosted by Lorin Ferguson
Hi There! I'm Lorin. My daughter Madeleine and I welcome you to our new second home!
I live in California on Monterey Bay and my dream has been to own a home in Hawaii. I'm so excited to be here, and to share it with you when I am not. I love this area and I want others to enjoy it also! It's so dreamy.
I'm a Midwesterner, and now a Californian. My work is in Medicine and specifically in Cardiothoracic Surgery. I have 2 wonderful adult daughters and a goofy Cockapoo named Moose. I love travel, animals of all kinds but especially dogs and birds, coffee, wine, good conversations, hiking, biking, swimming, sailing, painting, plants and gardening and anything that involves a new adventure.

Why they chose this property
I love that this area is right by the ocean as well as the abundance of wildlife we share in this rainforest such as whales, dolphins, turtles, frogs, canaries and mina birds to name a few.
It is centrally located on the East coast so I feel it is an easy drive to all the nature attractions, Hilo restaurants and beaches, as well as a short drive to Kona where the landscape and vibe are quite different.
The area isn't touristy and there are a lot of interesting neighbors to meet. It is peaceful and rural and a tropical peaceful paradise.

What makes this property unique
It is open and bright and appointed in good taste for the discerning visitor. Cozy yet elegant and very clean.
Being across from the ocean you will smell the saltwater, hear the waves crashing, listen to the yellow canaries chasing each other, and lull to the frog concert at night.
