Great location: Quiet and peaceful

This cabin was great for our family. We all loved being on the river. There were two elk that hung out near our cabin. The cleaning crew did not clean before our stay, at no fault of the host. When we notified the host, they were quick to respond and had it cleaned quickly for us. Great host and great stay!

All in all the stay was good. Minor things like coffee pot and dvd The bed in second bedroom is difficult for older folks to get in and out of. Loved being by river and it was close to Estes Park and RMNP. Appliances worked well Host responded to questions promptly.

Enjoyed our escape to Estes

We had an absolutely wonderful and cozy stay! Great communication. Great accommodations. Great location. The kitchen was stocked with all necessities for cooking. The views are great and the home rests in a very peaceful setting. I loved sitting on the deck (and next to the open windows in the LR) to hear the sounds of the water.

Love the sound of the rushing river!

The host was an excellent communicator, and even volunteered to connect us with a fishing guide. The multi-level property is built into a hill right above the Big Thompson River, and there are stairs down to the river where you can fish for rainbow and brown trout from their property. Well equipped and nicely furnished.

Nice house, no AC

Love the location and river access. The property itself is commensurate with the cost. Our kids enjoyed the property also. Everything was in working order. Only complaint would be that we booked bc the listing said Air Conditioning. There was no AC. That was our main reason for booking. And initially the host was very responsive but never did get replies back for our early check-in or AC question (upon arrival).

About the host

Hosted by Danielle Witte

Host profile image
Hi, I’m Danielle Witte! My husband Ben and I are both Colorado natives, and we feel incredibly lucky to call this beautiful state our lifelong home. We grew up exploring the mountains—camping, hiking, skiing, and just soaking up all the natural beauty that makes Colorado so special. Estes Park, in particular, has always held a special place in our hearts. It’s where some of our favorite memories were made growing up, and now, as a family, we continue to return here year after year.

Ben and I are outdoor enthusiasts at heart. We love hiking scenic trails, casting a fly into a quiet river, sharing stories around a campfire, and simply enjoying the slower rhythm that comes with being in the mountains. Estes Park offers all of that and more—it’s a place where you can breathe a little deeper, look up at the stars a little longer, and feel more connected to the people around you.

Hosting this cabin is deeply meaningful to us. It’s not just a rental—it’s a piece of our story. We built and designed it with love and intention, hoping it would become a space where other families, couples, and friends could find the same sense of peace and connection that has meant so much to us over the years.

We truly love sharing this little mountain sanctuary with our guests. Whether you’re here for your first visit to Estes or your fiftieth, we hope this place feels like home—a place to unwind, reconnect, and make memories that stay with you long after you leave.

Welcome to the mountains. We’re so glad you’re here.

Why they chose this property

We chose this neighborhood because it embodies everything we’ve come to cherish about mountain living—a sense of peace, natural beauty that takes your breath away, and a slower, more intentional pace of life that’s become increasingly rare in today’s busy world.

For years, we traveled to the mountains with our family, always searching for that perfect place that felt like home—not just a beautiful view, but a location that offered a true sense of belonging. When we first visited this area, we immediately felt that spark. There was something grounding about the sound of the wind through the trees, the way the light dances across the peaks, and the simple quiet that settles over everything. We found ourselves breathing deeper, talking longer, laughing more. It was exactly the kind of place we’d always dreamed of sharing with others.

What makes this neighborhood special isn’t just its stunning surroundings—though the nearby trails, lakes, and views are unforgettable. It’s the feeling you get when you’re here. The neighbors wave as they pass by, kids play outside without screens, and the evenings are filled with campfires, stories, and stars. It reminds us of a simpler, more connected way of life.

We chose this place because it brings people together. It encourages you to unplug, be present, and truly enjoy the company of the people you’re with. Whether you're here to adventure or just to rest, this neighborhood invites you to do it all with heart.

We couldn’t imagine a better place to create lasting memories with the people we love—and now, to share that experience with guests like you.

What makes this property unique

What Makes Our Cabin Unique? The View—and the Feeling That Comes With It

What truly sets our cabin apart is the view—and not just how beautiful it is, but how it feels to be surrounded by it. Nestled right along the banks of the Big Thompson River in Estes Park, our home offers a front-row seat to Colorado’s natural beauty in every season. Nearly every window frames a postcard-perfect scene: from rushing water and towering pines to snow-capped peaks in the distance.

In the summer, the deck is where we spend the most time. With the river just steps away and wildflowers blooming all around, it’s the perfect place to sip coffee in the morning or unwind with a glass of wine as the sun dips behind the mountains. You’ll likely spot hummingbirds flitting by or hear elk bugling in the distance—a reminder that you’re in the heart of nature.

When winter arrives, the whole landscape transforms into a peaceful, snow-covered wonderland. Whether you're curled up by the fireplace or watching flakes fall gently through the Great Room’s large windows, it feels like you’re inside a living snow globe. There’s a deep stillness here that’s hard to find anywhere else.

No matter the season, this cabin invites you to slow down and savor the moment. Spring brings rushing rivers and bright green blooms; autumn delivers crisp air and fiery foliage. Every time you look outside, there’s something new to take in—and something grounding about being so close to it all.

More than just a view, it’s an experience. A true mountain escape that invites connection, reflection, and a deep appreciation for the beauty around you.
