Enjoyed our escape to Estes

We had an absolutely wonderful and cozy stay! Great communication. Great accommodations. Great location. The kitchen was stocked with all necessities for cooking. The views are great and the home rests in a very peaceful setting. I loved sitting on the deck (and next to the open windows in the LR) to hear the sounds of the water.

Love the sound of the rushing river!

The host was an excellent communicator, and even volunteered to connect us with a fishing guide. The multi-level property is built into a hill right above the Big Thompson River, and there are stairs down to the river where you can fish for rainbow and brown trout from their property. Well equipped and nicely furnished.

Nice house, no AC

Love the location and river access. The property itself is commensurate with the cost. Our kids enjoyed the property also. Everything was in working order. Only complaint would be that we booked bc the listing said Air Conditioning. There was no AC. That was our main reason for booking. And initially the host was very responsive but never did get replies back for our early check-in or AC question (upon arrival).

About the host

We have a deep love for the mountains—one shaped by years of cherished family vacations with our extended family. Every season, we’d pack up the kids and meet up with grandparents, cousins, and close friends to reconnect in Colorado’s high country. Those trips became treasured traditions, filled with laughter around campfires, long hikes through alpine meadows, snowball fights in the winter, and cozy evenings playing games or sharing stories under starry skies.

Over time, we came to realize that the mountains offer more than just a beautiful escape—they bring people closer. Life slows down here. There’s space to breathe, to talk, to just be together without distraction. Surrounded by nature, we found a kind of peace and connection that’s hard to find in everyday life.

Those unforgettable experiences inspired us to create a space where other families could share the same kind of magic. This cabin is the result of that dream—a place built not just for comfort, but for connection. Whether you’re fishing in the river just steps from the back door, hiking nearby trails, cooking dinner together, or simply watching the sun set over the peaks, we hope this space helps you slow down and enjoy meaningful time with your loved ones.

It’s more than a getaway—it’s a place for memory-making. A place where new traditions begin, laughter echoes through the trees, and moments turn into stories you’ll carry home with you.

We’re honored to share our mountain retreat with you. Here’s to deep breaths, unforgettable adventures, and time well spent with those who matter most.

Why they chose this property

We have a deep and lasting love for the mountains—one that’s been nurtured over the years through countless family vacations with our extended family. Every summer or winter, we’d pack up the kids, meet up with grandparents, cousins, and friends, and head for the high country. Those trips became treasured traditions, full of laughter around campfires, long hikes through alpine meadows, snowy sledding adventures, and evenings spent playing board games or sharing stories under the stars.

It was during those trips that we discovered how the mountains have a unique way of bringing people together. Life slows down, conversations run deeper, and connections grow stronger. Surrounded by nature, with no distractions except the sound of the river or the crackle of a fire, we found the kind of joy and peace that’s hard to come by in the everyday hustle of life.

Inspired by those experiences, we dreamed of creating a place where other families—whether it’s parents with kids, grandparents with grandkids, or old friends reuniting—could enjoy that same sense of adventure, bonding, and belonging. This cabin is the realization of that dream.

More than just a place to stay, it’s a space designed with love and intention—a warm and welcoming home base for meaningful time together. Whether you're exploring nearby trails, cooking a meal together in the cozy kitchen, fishing right out the back door, or just sitting quietly on the deck watching the light shift over the mountains, we hope you feel the same sense of magic and connection that inspired us to create this retreat.

We’re truly honored to share this mountain sanctuary with you and your loved ones. Here’s to new traditions, unforgettable memories, and the kind of moments that stay with you long after you’ve headed home.

What makes this property unique

The View – A Mountain Escape for Every Season
One of the most unforgettable parts of staying at the cabin is the view. Every window frames a unique and breathtaking perspective—whether it's the shimmering Big Thompson River just steps away, the towering pines that sway gently in the breeze, or the majestic peaks that rise in the distance.

In the summer months, the deck becomes our favorite spot to relax. With a cup of coffee or a glass of wine in hand, we love watching hummingbirds dart among the wildflowers and listening to the soothing sounds of the river below. The long days are filled with golden light, and the sunsets over the mountains are simply unforgettable.

Come winter, the scenery transforms into a snow-covered wonderland. From the warmth of the Great Room or the coziness of the fireplace, we find ourselves captivated by the sight of frosted trees, snow-dusted boulders, and the serene hush that blankets the landscape. Watching snowfall through the cabin’s large windows feels like being inside a snow globe.

Every season brings something new—spring’s bright green blooms and rushing rivers, fall’s brilliant colors and crisp mountain air. No matter when you visit, the views offer a front-row seat to nature’s quiet majesty. It’s the kind of beauty that invites you to slow down, breathe deep, and truly be present.
