This is one of our favorite spots we have visited, we enjoyed the beautiful backyard, gorgeous home and front porch. Great location and incredibly clean and well stocked. We hope to return soon!
Libby thinks of everything to make the house comfortable and welcoming. House is clean, backyard is cute with ample seating options. Love that dogs are welcome and a focal point of the property! Not because the house is already run down like many VRBO pet friendly properties, but because she's set the rental up that way. Finishes are as new and high end as they appear in photos.
This is one of the best places I’ve ever stayed. The decor, the outdoor areas, and the attention to detail were all above standard. Dog friendly is an understatement! The whole house is immaculate too!
Everything was top notch, could not have asked for a better place for our weekend stay in Springfield MO. I would definitely recommend this property to anyone looking for a cute and cozy spot. Steve L.
This is the most beautiful rental I’ve experienced. Every detail is perfect. The beds are so comfortable, and the back yard is unbelievable! Very clean, very good communication…our only regret is that we couldn’t stay longer!
What an incredible home and experience. The host put a lot of care into making our stay peaceful and comfortable. The home is beautifully decorated, cozy and has lots of amenities, including a dedicated dog area and outdoor living spaces.
The property was amazing and the host was even better! The landscaping, the exterior decor, the interior impeccable and warm. This is by far the best vrbo we’ve stayed in. Couldn’t recommend this place and host enough.

Thank you so much for your kind words! It was a pleasure hosting you, and I’d be delighted to welcome you back anytime you’re in Springfield.
This property was nice with wonderful indoor and outdoor spaces for the family to enjoy. The property has been completely update and not detail was spared. It's also in a great location close to everything.
I’m honestly sad to be leaving! Such a beautiful home away from home and close to everything Springfield has to offer. This home is incredibly well cared for, meticulously designed, immaculately clean, and comes with countless amenities. Thanks a bunch to one incredible host!
Hands down the best property we've stayed at in Springfield and maybe anywhere. They've thought of EVERYTHING! The yard and back porch are heaven. Cant wait to come back- seriously was hard to leave! Thanks Libby for the amazing property!
This place was... AMAZING!!! It was just absolutely perfect.. the outdoor space and all the landscaping was unbelievable. This is the NICEST place I have every stayed (and I have stayed at a lot of places!). All the personal touches... thank you Libby! WE LOVED IT and can't wait to come back!
We stayed one night with another couple. We drove 4 hours to see Blackberry Smoke at the Gillioz Theater. Our only regret is that we didn’t stay two nights. The house was beyond our expectations. We’ve stayed at other places and were underwhelmed. This place was the opposite. Libby had everything covered from coffee and creamer to toiletries. They did not hold back when they renovated this house. The backyard was a quiet oasis that we relaxed in the next morning. When we visit Springfield again we won’t hesitate to stay here again.
Absolutely beautiful and immaculate inside and outside! All the amenities anyone could ask for and things no one would even expect. We only stayed one night but would have loved to enjoy the place longer. Would definitely recommend it and look forward to a longer stay.

About the host
Hosted by Libby
I'm Libby, a Springfield Missouri native and owner of The Dryer House. I live next door with my 3 friendly, well mannered dogs. I spent 36 years as a professional horse trainer and riding instructor, working primarily with Arabian and Saddlebred horses. During those years, I traveled extensively to horse shows with my dogs and learned firsthand how difficult it can be to find a comfortable, welcoming place to stay when traveling with pets. That experience shaped how I host and why The Dryer House was designed to be a calm, dog-friendly space for both people and pets. The home is thoroughly cleaned between every stay, with extra care taken after pet visits, so guests without pets can enjoy a fresh and comfortable stay as well. I love hosting and take pride in offering a comfortable, well maintained home where guest can truly unwind.
Why they chose this property
I chose this neighborhood long before The Dryer House became a short-term rental. I bought my own home next door 27 years ago because I've always loved this area - the tree lined streets, walkability and sense of community which is what truly sets this neighborhood apart. It's the kind of place where neighbors and the Springfield community gather for a Halloween parade. Horse drawn sleigh rides through the neighborhood during the Christmas season. Each June, the area comes alive with the Pickwick Street Fair, celebrating local businesses, art, food, and music. Just a short walk away is Pickwick Place, with locally loved restaurants, shopping and breweries. It's lively yet peaceful neighborhood that feels welcoming, walkable, and genuinely connected - which is exactly why I chose to live here and why sharing it with guests feels so special. Creating a short term rental here was truly a natural extension of choosing this neighborhood for myself.
What makes this property unique
What makes The Dryer House truly unique is owner-cared-for rather than simply overseen. This isn't a high turnover rental or a managed property - it's a carefully restored home next to my own, in a neighborhood I've loved living in for years. When I remodeled the home, I didn't design it as a rental - I designed it the way I would want to live in it myself. Every choice was made with design, comfort, functionality, and livability in mind, creating a space that feels natural and genuinely welcoming rather than staged. Guests appreciate the private setting, the character of an older home, and the feeling of staying somewhere that is genuinely cared for rather than simply rented.
