The lodge is right on the river which was so relaxing and gorgeous. When we got to our room I discovered that although it was first floor room, it was still a balcony room because of the location of the building. I called the office and they let us switch to a patio with a fire pit! That was perfect and really made the stay so much better. After being in the room for a while I kept smelling “dog pee”. I wasn’t sure at first but then I found there was quite a bit of dog pee on the closet door. It’s a pet friendly place so not a huge deal, things happen. So I called in the morning let them know and asked for someone to come and clean it, they apologized and offers to send housekeeping down at 10:00am. That was great! Although no one ever showed up, the smell was quite strong and I got tired of waiting so I went to Walmart, got some Clorox wipes and pet odor febreeze to take care of it myself. That did the job to take the smell away. Other than that, the place was really nice, cozy and quiet. We went to Currents for breakfast and the food was good, the service was a bit slow but perhaps they were under staffed, understandable as well. The BBQ brisket with Mac & Cheese from the Smoke Show Bbq was fabulous. We had a great stay for the most part.
