Amazing Sunsets and Views
3 Minutes Outside Lake Placid
This 1800 sq ft home was built by my father in the late 60's. Both of my parents have passed away and after a bad experience renting it long term, my husband, kids and myself decided to gut it right out to the outer walls and start over again. It has been over a two year process. We finished it Saturday, March 2nd, 2024 It is located 5 miles from the trail heads to many of the Adirondack High Peaks. It also only a 3 minute drive from Lake Placid. It faces the west and is a sunset heaven. It also has awesome views of the Adirondacks from the bottom of the driveway. This property sleeps 6 and that number includes children and infants. Sorry, no pets.

Such a pleasant stay. Close to where we needed to be. Outstanding view coming out of the backyard trail. Was very pleased with the property and ease of booking.
Lovely house, super clean lots of extra touches. We appreciated the holiday decorations very much. Communication was fantastic. Location is perfect and the views are amazing.
Great location for hiking and exploring the area. The cabin was spacious, with really comfortable beds and bedrooms and lots of room in the living area to relax and have group meals. Very memorable.
10/10 recommend this beautiful home! we spent our July 4th weekend here and we had the best time! the location is perfect if you want somewhere still close to town, but still gives you that ADK escape. The renovations were so well done and the whole place is stunning. we had everything we needed and a corner store close by if we needed it. Perfect location for two small kiddos. We plan on making this place a yearly tradition! :)
We loved this house and its prime location. The house has been very recently renovated to perfection and has everything needed for a short or longer stay. Highly reccomend.
The cabin is classic Adirondack and provided lots of space for for us to spread out and relax. The location is perfect for hikers whom wish to be at the “hub” of numerous trails yet only a short drive to Lake Placid where we had the choice of many good restaurants to grab a hearty meal to recharge our batteries after a day of hiking.
Lake Placid reminded us of old memories and created new. If you’re thinking of coming to this area, this property is outstanding. The home is warm and welcoming and updated in every way. The outdoor porch deck was enjoyed morning, noon and night. Highly recommend this property.
The house was spotless upon arrival. Ton of space. Everything is brand new and in excellent working condition. The location is very convenient. I would highly recommend this house to anyone.
Beautiful vintage log cabin! The attention to detail in renovating this cabin was amazing! So much history in the house. Very clean and bed very comfortable. U get noise from I-73, but does not affect sleep! Make sure u walk over to Adk-LOJ for amazing views!
Truly wonderful! Thank you for working hard to get the wifi up! We were able to work remotely while our kids were at camp. It worked out wonderfully!
Home is really spotless and has a very cool vibe.
Loved this cabin!! It was so beautiful and rustic. Charming all around! Close to many places for hiking and watching the sunset on the LOJ road right next to the cabin. There was road noise but that did not take away from the experience! Thank you so much for the lovely stay!
I would highly recommend this spacious and charming log cabin home. The detail and historic relics that adorn this home, make for a great setting to start your Lake Placid exploration.
Truly unique!

Ideal except road noise
This cabin is a charming rebuild of a local restaurant from many years ago. Loved the over -the -top rustic decor, beds, couches, etc. only gripe is the frequent road noise from the very close highway. This was not a problem at night during sleep hours but made it less pleasant to be outside. The location was generally good because there are things to do in all directions. Super easy and recommend with the noise caveat.
Great central location to high peak attractions. Rustic and charming. The house was huge for our family of four so we could spread out- which was especially nice when eating most meals in due to covid. We had everything we could need there. We especially enjoyed sitting by the wood burning stove on cold nights and all the historical charm of the old building. The only down side is it’s close to the road but you get used to the sound of cars going by. We liked it so much we hope to stay there again someday.

About the host
Hosted by Carol T Hoffman
Have lived in Lake Placid all my life. I own a bed and breakfast inside the village. When my work load lets up, I like to hike or ski and a good book is a great way to relax.
Why they chose this property
The property this house sits on have been in my family since 1866. I lived inside Lake Placid until I was 15 when we moved into this house. I love coming out of my driveway and seeing the different moods of the mountains and the sunsets.
What makes this property unique
The area is very quiet, beautiful and as i have mentioned above you can never get enough of the sunsets. Plus even though it is 3 miles out of town it is not that far from all the local activities.
