My daughter and I stayed 3 nights and everything was fantastic! The beds were very comfortable. The bedding was so soft. We loved the coffee station with fresh beans to grind. So convenient! The shower was nice and hot without running out of hot water. It was very clean and we enjoyed watching TV sitting on the comfortable sectional. Location was great, close to great shopping and restaurants! We will be back for our next girl's trip!
Charming rental in a duplex. The neighborhood feels safe and friendly, with many people out chatting and walking their dogs. Beds were very comfortable, and the dining table is perfect for playing cards or games. Owners were responsive and communicative. Would definitely stayed here again!
Very clean—beds very comfy. Quiet residential neighborhood but well located for adventuring to great food, parks, walking and biking. Kitchen nicely stocked. Excellent communication with host from start to finish.
Outstanding stay at an extremely convenient location. House and amenities were exactly as described. Super comfortable mattress and high quality bedding. Stayed here over Thanksgiving and kitchen was the best equipped of any rental house we have stayed at. They even had a potato masher! Pots and pans were high quality and like new condition. Home was clean and furniture was clean and good quality. Host communication was excellent. Host made sure that someone cleared the outside stairs and walkways after a large snow event as well. (Dan was so friendly and great!) We also appreciated the hair dryer and shampoo, body wash and conditioner that was available in the bathroom and the Britta water filter in the refrigerator. All above and beyond expectations. Will stay here anytime I come back to the Twin Cities!
The location was excellent. The only slightly negative things were the lack of any storage drawers for clothes, uncomfortable bed pillows, and the steep stairs to the basement where the washer/dryer is located. All are typical in this area. On the positive side, there is a great heating/cooling system and new windows. The mattresses were very comfortable. The owner responded quickly to any issues. Our son and his wife came to visit and loved the unit and the neighborhood.
Our stay was very pleasant. Outside of a lock issue which was resolved in a timely manner, there were no issues. The cottage was well equipped and very clean. The local Macalester College area was a good place to be based. The indoor space was great. I would say the back yard area could have been better and we didn’t end up using it. Overall a good experience. I would stay there again when in Minneapolis/St Paul.
It's the perfect location for a visit to Snake Discovery. The house is great for a small family of 3 and kitchen was well stocked to make breakfast. I would choose this house any day over a hotel room. I did miss the email from the rental agency regarding check-in because I was expecting to see it come via VRBO and not the agency. The email went to spam. It would be helpful for the agency to send this info via VRBO text too. The house does need a really thorough clean. Baseboards were dirty and floors looked as though they were not cleaned before our stay. Kristen from the agency said the renters before us spilled oil on the floors which is why the floors appeared as they did but that didn't seem consistent with what we saw. The bathroom grout surrounding the tub was old and moldy. It needs replacing. I've stayed in spotless rentals and I've also seen much dirtier so compared to other rentals cleanliness this was a 3. However, the bedding, towels, bedrooms were neat and clean and there was no unnecessary clutter. It's an old home with its quirks and for the price it was good for a couple nights stay.

Thank you for sharing your experience and for the kind words about the location, comfort, and overall value of the home. We’re especially glad you found the bedrooms, linens, and towels clean and well prepared—our guests' comfort is our top priority.
We’re sorry for the confusion around check-in communication. Good suggestion on how that information is delivered through VRBO in order that it doesn’t get missed.
Regarding cleanliness, we appreciate you calling out specific items. We do want to share that in our six years of hosting, this is the first time we’ve received a cleanliness rating of this kind, and while we don't believe a 3 out of 5 rating is accurate, we take your feedback seriously. The home is professionally cleaned between every stay using a detailed turnover process. We are reviewing the floors, baseboards, and bathroom grout you mentioned to ensure everything meets our standards.
Thank you again for choosing our home and for taking the time to leave a thoughtful review. We’re glad it worked well for your stay and hope to host you again.
The cottage was cozy and clean. we rented it as we have a small dog and wanted a fenced yard. Everything was going great until our dog smelled a rabbit and went under the shed. THE BACK OF THE YARD WAS NOT FENCED and our dog got lose. This is the fear of pet owners-in a strange town and your pet gets away. After 30 minutes my husband found our dog. I called the host and reported this and a handyman was sent over and made what seemed to be a temporary fix. It could have turned out much differently. I hope the fence is fixed.

Sorry Katherine, your review about the backyard fence is not accurate. To clarify, the backyard is fenced in. A shed in the backyard is part of the fence. Your dog chased a rabbit and dug under the shed and got beyond the fenced in property. We then had a handyman fix the hole your dog dug to repair the damage, while you were there. The fix is not temporary. The yard is fully fenced and now the hole your dog dug is fully blocked.
Everything was clean and comfortable. Good location and good value.
