I flew up from Colorado for a weekend trip with my family and we had a great time. The house layout was perfect for coming together but with enough space between rooms for everyone to recharge in between dinners/activities. The host was super responsive and helpful as well.
We loved our stay here, the photos do not do the home justice! We had three generations in the cabin while we skied up at the mountain. We all had our separate spaces with full bathrooms and a large dining table open to the nice living room. The Starlink internet was great and the large tv in the living room was great for catching the foot ball game. The cabin was very clean, comfortable beds, fully stocked kitchen. Easy access to and from the mountain. We look forward to another stay should we be back in the area.

3 generations! That is so awesome :) I trust you all created lasting memories on this vaca! Grateful to host this visit!
It was a great place- well utilized space to allow plenty of room for visitors. Nice little add ons like the foosball table nice area for family games. great kitchen- well supplied! The host was very attentive to us checking in on any needs and making themselves avaiable for any concerns. Even though we didnt get to ski at Schweitzer (poor snow conditions)- the house allowed us to have have a great time together as a family! We'll likely be back in a future year when snow is better!

Appreciate your stay, even during a poor snow season. With our proximity to the free Schweitzer Shuttle, it really is convenient to allow different members of a group to come and go from the house to the slopes without needing additional transportation. Hope you guys get to experience that next time.
Great spot--although the trains throughout the night were an issue for a couple of lighter sleepers in our party, even with the earplugs and sound machines. We loved our time in Northern Idaho!
The PERFECT place to stay by Schweitzer! There was room for everyone, comfortable beds and pillows, well stocked kitchen…everything was great!

So grateful to host a wonderful family for comfortable and easy Schweitzer Mtn access! We put lots of care into making sure one can find just about anything they might need in a vacation rental from the kitchen to the ski boot dryer in the garage :) Thank you much!
Nice clean home with everything you need. Only issue we had was the waygps tried to take us there but that road was closed. Easy to go around gps just wouldn’t re-calculate

Darn GPS leading you astray! We did have a small detour this summer when our main access road needed an overhaul. Alas, all is patched up now and we're back on the road as they say. So sorry you had that hiccup upon your arrival.
We had a great week! House had everything we needed. We had great communication with the owner. Check In was smooth. House was clean! Great AC. Lots of room for trailer/ boat. Thank you!!

The driveway and double car garage makes a great basecamp for boating groups for sure! Appreciate your visit!
The home had a great layout for our three families, and was very clean and well equipped with everything we needed. The kids loved the bunk room. The only down side was the proximity to the train tracks. The trains going by regularly through the night made sleep a bit difficult.

Glad you guys enjoyed and so cool that you could fit three families into the property. That is certainly what we had in mind and grateful to host you all:) We hope the white noise makers and ear plugs were helpful to reduce the impact of the trains.

Sandpoint in the fall is so beautiful with the colors changing on the Aspens and Tamaracks! With quick access from the house into the mountains and into town, we love the location as it's just off the city hub yet close to the trails :) Appreciate your stay.
A lot of trains passed at night. When the train passed, the bed was shaken. Other than that, it was clean and good.

Appreciate your stay Kyung and hope the trains didn't interrupt your stay too much. We certainly are a train town here in beautiful Sandpoint. We add white noise sound machines and ear plugs in most properties to help support lighter sleepers. Many thanks for your review.

Disliked: Cleanliness, communication, location
House was very clean upon arrival, and had everything we needed. However, there are mice... We started finding mouse droppings after the first day... on the floor, dining table, bathroom, bedroom... And as we were staying with our kids, it was not a good experience...The trains were also quite disruptive, the house and beds are shaking badly hourly, but we did expect some of that from before we booked. Unfortunately we would not stay again and can't recommend it..

So sorry you guys had that experience! We have worked through the house with our local Ethical Pest Control provider to remove the mice and secure the house moving forward. While we are located in a 'rural' setting with nature out the backdoor, it is certainly important to address any concerns when nature tries to come indoors :) And I am confident to say that we are on it. Our apologies.
Booked for a ski trip with my young kids and my parents. Check-in was really easy and having a large garage with a boot dryer for gear was helpful. With only 6 people, there was plenty of room to spread out. The kids loved having bunk beds! Overall, the furniture and finishings were of a higher quality than you would normally find in a rental. The kitchen is stocked with pots/pans/utensils/dishes so we were well-equipped to make breakfast & dinner before and after skiing. There are even some basic ingredients (flour, cinnamon, coffee, sugar) in the cupboards.James was super responsive (probably the most response vacation host I've had) both before and during our trip. He was able to remotely adjust the heat in the bunk room when a previous guest had left the thermostat remote without batteries, then came by the next day to leave some for us. My clarifying questions about the house were answered within hours (during ski season when he's a backcountry guide, nonetheless).Train noise: proximity to train tracks is fully disclosed in the description and there are white noise machines and ear plugs provided. The noise didn't overtly bother my kids (the bunk room is closest to the tracks) but they did wake up a lot earlier than normal. I'm a lighter sleeper and ear plugs don't stay in my ears, so the trains often woke me up at night. Some of the freight trains pass by every 30-45 min. The upside is that the Schweitzer shuttle is close, so it was still a great overall stay.

Thanks for a wonderful and honest review! I think it really helps future guests understand the dynamics of the house and how it worked for your fam. Appreciate that you noticed the investment in quality furnishings and appliances to make a comfortable and well stocked stay :) Hope you all made lasting memories in beautiful Sandpoint!
Great property and amenities...room sizes were great for a family of 7 adults...everyone/every couple had their own private space to escape to after a busy day of sightseeing Sandpoint and the local area. Appliances were all new/upgraded...especially appreciated the washer/dryer to be able to take home clean clothes at the end of our trip. Location is perfect...not why out in the boondocks, but not right in town either...very close to grocery stores and restaurants, even though restaurants weren't much needed for us as the home's kitchen had everything you needed to cook family meals in...the only negative on location was the property is less than 100 yards from an active train line so the provided earplugs were definitely put to use. Even though we didn't use the garage, it's rare to find properties on rental sights with garages and this one had a double garage which would be a huge advantage in the winter. Again, great property and location!

Appreciate your stay with us and for visiting our little town! Sounds like everyone could spread out quite well in the house and that's what we were going for. But, with plenty of common space to come together and share time together as well. Many thanks!
Let me start by saying, I stay in a lot of VRBO’s between work and personal trips. This sweet ski cabin is now one of my favorites! From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with warmth and hospitality. And the location couldn't have been more perfect for our needs (last minute, end-of-the-season ski trip). In 4 minutes, you can walk from the home to the free Schweitzer shuttle – it was a dream to not have to worry about parking on the mountain. And downtown Sandpoint is like a 10-minute drive…locationally it is the best of both worlds!
The property itself was immaculate. Every detail was thoughtfully curated, from the cozy furnishings to the well-equipped kitchen. We felt right at home from the moment we stepped inside. I really felt the best part was the layout of the home. It could really accommodate a few families without surrendering any privacy.
The VRBO host was incredibly accommodating and responsive to our needs. He provided us with detailed instructions and recommendations for exploring the area, which made our stay even more enjoyable.
And I feel that I should touch on the proximity to the train. Yes, there's a train nearby, but it didn't bother us one bit. In fact, we found it added a certain charm to our stay.
Overall, awesome stay – my new go-to for our Schweitzer/Sandpoint stays! Thank you!

We are grateful for your stay with us in beautiful Sandpoint Amy! Being able to walk to the free shuttle bus to go up to Schweitzer is pretty convenient while skipping the hassles of parking on the mountain. See you and your group on the next visit!
James was born near the Pacific Ocean & Julie was raised in the bayou outside of New Orleans. We were lucky enough to find the mountains of Idaho as adults. Love to play as much as possible and work when we have to, which is most of the time of course! Especially now raising two little toddlers we are go go go! Luckily we live in nature's playground so there is always something to do to keep everyone busy. We are big into snow sports, fly fishing, mountain biking, yoga, and all things kidcentric. Live a clean and sober life and care very much about health and wellness. I have been managing beautiful properties in Sandpoint since 2018 with my company, Point Property Management, llc.
Why they chose this property
With a wood, quiet area, we enjoy calm walks up and down the road.
What makes this property unique
When winter comes, the free shuttle to Schweitzer Mountain is only a 3 minute walk away and makes accessing the mountain so easy.
