About this property

Martin House at Happiness Hills Farm

About this space
Martin House is a comfortable guest house at Happiness Hills Farm, a farm & retreat center in the Appalachian foothills near historic Berea, Kentucky. It's perfect for couples, families, & groups who want to enjoy each other's company in a beautiful setting. The Martin House is designed to feel like a home, with two private bedrooms, a great room, full kitchen, and a "Grandma's Attic" space with six single beds.
Bringing a pet? Just let us know - there's a small pet fee that calculates.
The space
When you're sitting on the balcony with a cup of fresh coffee or tea, looking across the sloping lawn toward the hammocks and the bridge across the Red Lick Creek, time seems to stand still and peace washes over you. At least that's what we hear from folks who stay here, and what we experience every morning at our home, just up the hill from the Martin House.
Guest access
The Martin House lodging area on the second and third floors is completely private - you'll have your own door lock code and once you're inside, the space is entirely yours. On the ground floor is a common area that houses laundry facilities, additional bathrooms, and a full kitchen. You might see other visitors and farm residents in that area, which has a separate outdoor entrance. Outside the house, you'll be sharing the wide open spaces with other guests and the Escobar family. You're welcome to enjoy the creek, the lawns, the walking trails, the chapel, the campfire area, and our 10-acre lake, along with the rest of us - we welcome you!
Other things to note
We are committed to a healthy earth, and we want our retreat center to do its part. We ask our guests to join us in separating food waste (we'll compost it for you) and recycling (we'll deliver it to the local center), and we promise to plant a tree on the farm for each booking of five nights or more.
