A charming, rustic farmhouse with minimalist decor. Three bedrooms were comfortable. The kitchen is not well equipped, e.g. no drinking glasses. We visited during a hot summer week and the house was boiling hot-no screens, no AC, windows won’t open. The upstairs was an oven and no one could get a good sleep in the stifling heat and insufficient fans. It was a very difficult week.

Thank you for your feedback. You visited during an unusually severe heat wave, and without AC, the house can get quite warm — though that’s rare for our area. The windows do open, and drinking glasses are provided in mason jar style to fit the farmhouse décor. I would have been happy to clarify during your stay if you had reached out. Wishing you all the best in your future travels.

Never again
Extremely unhappy with our stay. House needs repairs. Dangerous getting into house. Uneven walkway needs to be repaired. Creates a tripping hazard, also needed is a railing up to porch, as well as no hand railing going to second floor. Heat was off house temp 51 when we arrived. Took over an hour to figure out how to operate the nest style thermostat. No instructions on that. Once the thermostat saga was figured out the forced hot air system was adequate. Texted agent (9pm) never got back to us until next day. Telling us if there aren't enough towels to use the washer & dryer! Shower is in a high old climb in bath tub- again dangerous no hand railings. Also bedroom doors do not completely close. House is old, needs to repaired & up to safety codes. Not just over painting everything, even painting the windows closed, none of them open.
( again dangerous).

Thank you for leaving a public review instead of any private feedback during your stay or after. You emailed about the heat and towels on October 4th at 21:03 (9:03PM), you emailed again at 9:22 telling me you figured out the Nest thermostat - which adjusts but moving the dial to the temperature you want. I responded to you at 9:24PM on October 4th. A response time of 21 minutes. And I told you that the towels were in each bedroom closet. You did not respond so I emailed AGAIN the next day at 9:28AM detailing the towels (9 bath towels, 3 face cloths, 3 makeup remover cloths plus hand towels in each bathroom). I also told you that if you prefer to use fresh towels for each shower, you can use the washer and dryer. I will put screenshots of our conversation in the listing so potential guests can see the validity in my communication. You never responded after that.
The tub and walkway are shown in the listing. There is nothing unsafe about them. But if you are less than agile, I can understand that you may want a lower sided tub and level (not uphill) walkway. In that case, you would want to look more carefully at the listing before you book to make sure it has what you need. As far as safety, the house has been lived in full-time for years. The windows are original to the house, some are hard to open. But if it's cold enough to have the heat on, they shouldn't be anyway.
