About this property
Cosy, Convenient, Converted Cottage Perfectly Situated Close To Everything
Close to everything the Twin Cities has to offer, our cute cottage conversion is nestled in a stunning, leafy neighborhood, minutes from downtown Minneapolis. A few blocks walk and you'll find yourself on the banks of the great Mississippi River, where there's a bike and walking path that will take you into the city or down the river to the mighty Minnehaha Falls. The house itself is cosy and well equipped for groups and families - with a media set up that includes a game console and games.
WHY SO FEW REVIEWS?
Long story short, we had our house listed with a third-party management company and just weren't happy with the service. So we decided to manage it ourselves - which meant we had to totally re-list. The upside is we get greater control. The downside is we lost all of our reviews. So until we have a few more bookings under our own management, we'll look a little like we haven't done this before. Which is a real bummer. Because we've been doing this for years!
MORE ABOUT THE HOUSE / AREA
This little place was built in the early 1940’s to house local railroad workers. Walk around the neighborhood. and you'll notice that almost all of the houses on the block have the same footprint and front (if somewhat mirrored). They all have the same story. They were all built to house those men and women who kept this country moving post WW2. Good on ‘em.
We've done quite a bit of work on our place, renovating every room except the living room. There are two bedrooms on the main floor, with a full bath, and one bedroom in the basement, which also has a full bath with an awesome shower. The kitchen is fully stocked with all the pots, pans, plates, bowls and cuttery you'll need.
Seward is one of the oldest neighborhoods in Minneapolis and is now one of the coolest places to live and visit in the Twin Cities. We know you’ll love it.
ACCESS
You'll get full access to the house and the garage.
THINGS TO NOTE
There'll be so many cool things to experience, just outside your door.
RESTAURANTS, CAFES & MORE
Head west along 25th St and you’ll find Cafe Racer. Great south-american inspired “food-truck-style” meals. Head north (up 31st) (and a little west) and you’ll hit Franklin Ave. Check out the Seward CoOp for groceries, Curry in a Hurry for…well curry, Code Blu for coffee, Zipps for your drinks, and Pizza Luce for pizza. There’s also some african-style grocery stores and cafes that are awesome. Head south (down 31st) and you’ll hit East Lake Street. East Lake has it all. Head to
Milkweed or Dogwood for coffee. Or take your pick from Merlin’s, HiLo, The Himalayan Restaurant (Nepalese/Indian), Peppers and Fries, Sonora Grill (Mexican fusion), Longfellow Grill, The Bungalow Club, Midori’s Floating World (Japanese), or any one of the smaller mexican-style eateries for some great food. The Longfellow Market is also a great local grocery store where you’ll find everything you need. And if you like the golden arches, you’ll find them right on the corner of 31st and East Lake.
GO GET OUT THERE
This is a great city full of things to do. And many of the most simple pleasures are just around the corner.
BIKING & WALKING THE MISSISSIPPI & THE GREENWAY
Head East on either 25th or 26th street and you’ll hit the big river. There’s an amazing bike/walking path along both sides, and if you look for the entries, you’ll find hiking trails that will take you right down to the beaches. The Greenway is a trail that runs along an old abandoned train line. It connects to so many more trails in the cities. You can access it by heading south on 30th or 29th ave, or by heading south along the river trail. There’s some bikes in our garage for you but if you’d prefer electric help, you’ll find electric scooters all over town or Nice Ride bikes east of us on 25th St, between 33rd and 34th ave.
MINNEAPOLIS PARKS
There are two great parks within walking distance. Both are awesome for different reasons. Matthews Park to the north west has playgrounds, splash pad, soccer fields, basketball courts, tennis courts, community center, sledding hill (winter), and free ice skating and hockey rink (winter). To the south east you’ll find Brackett Field Park. It has playgrounds, splash pad, soccer fields, basketball courts, skate park, exercise equipment, and a community center.
PUBLIC TRANSPORT
If you don’t have a car, then Bus Routes 7,9 and 21 are walking distance and will take you where you need to go. The Light Rail is also not far away. You’ll find the Blue Line if you travel west on Franklin Ave. The blue line will take you north into Minneapolis downtown, or south towards the airport and the Mall of America.
GOT A CAR? HIT THE ROAD.
The house is super close to the two main roads that connect and dissect the twin cities - the 94 and the 35W. You can access both really easily from here and once on them, they shoot you wherever you need to go.
