Weekend getaway

Really relaxing weekend getaway spot. Great walking trail at Lake Herman State Park. Our stay was great. Beautifully updated lake home with perfect amenities.

Cozy lake house

We were all very happy with the home. It was clean, had amazing natural light, well decorated, and had amazing views. We spent our days fishing and relaxing in the sun. Madison is a larger lake town where relaxing is top priority. No worries about getting to different tourist locations. We always enjoy our time here, and when we come again in two years, we will certainly reach out to this property owner for accommodations again. The property owners were great to communicate with. We had heavy rain this year and they kept me up to date with the homes status even prior to our departure. They had to remove the dock due to high water, but provided several fun alternatives for the kids. If I had one complaint it would be not being able to do laundry. Traveling with kids, it piles up fast, but who is supposed to be doing laundry in vacation anyways!😉 Thank you for sharing skeets retreat with us. We will hold these fond memories for a lifetime.

Our family of 7 had a great time! We played on the beach (bring water shoes-it's a little rocky!), played bean bags outside and inside (the garage was a good spot to hang out in when it rained). There was plenty of seating with the table and the kitchen counter area. The cabin was very clean and there were a lot of things to use like marshmallow sticks, crockpots, air fryer, etc. My son loved taking the little mini kayak thing out by the dock and we took the canoe out a few times.My only critique and it's no fault on the owner, it was just my oversight, was that the beach is across a road. The road is NOT busy at all, but with 3 smaller kids- it did cause some maneuvering. Mostly kids are kids and when you get down to the beach, someone ALWAYS has to use the bathroom :D Living room area isn't huge but was fine for us- we didn't spend a lot of time there. The couch was very comfortable. We had a very good time and the neighbors and owner are SO nice. Instant messages back if we had questions. The neighbors took us out for a pontoon ride one night- they were very nice people. Very nice place on a very quiet lake.
