About this property
Lakeside house on Webber Pond with a small beach and stunning, peaceful views.
Welcome to the Maine House – your ultimate retreat on the shores of Webber Pond! This spacious and inviting home offers water views from every room, making it the perfect getaway to relax and recharge. We advertise exclusively on VRBO, ensuring a seamless booking experience for our guests.
Start your day with breathtaking sunrises over the water, thanks to the home’s stunning eastern exposure. The deck, overlooking the serene lake, is the ideal spot for peaceful moments as you take in the sights and sounds of local wildlife. Keep an eye out for majestic Bald Eagles hunting nearby, and listen for the iconic call of the Loons – their haunting sound will make you want to return year after year. The sandy, shallow beach area is perfect for families with children, offering easy access to the water for swimming and wading.
While we don’t offer mooring, the property has its own dock where you can tie up your boat. Just a short distance away, a public boat launch makes it easy to get out on the lake for a day of fishing and boating. Webber Pond is a top-tier fishing destination, recently ranked by the BASS organization as one of the top 100 bass fishing lakes in the U.S. Whether you’re after smallmouth or largemouth bass, lake trout, or perch, you’ll find it here – plus, in the spring, you can witness the awe-inspiring Alewife run. These fish are a feast for the bass, and you may spot Bald Eagles, Ospreys, and Great Blue Herons taking advantage of the abundance.
For outdoor adventurers, we provide two single-person kayaks and one two-person kayak, along with life jackets and flotation devices. Explore the two islands on the lake, or spend time by the lakeside fire pit to cap off a perfect day. We also have a Lilypad floating device.
If you're a golf enthusiast, Natanis Golf Course is just 2 minutes away. It’s the only course in Maine with 36 regulation holes – a must-see for golfers!
In winter, this home is a snow lover's dream. Located right on the 'ITS 85' snowmobile trail, you can ride directly to Augusta or even Canada. After a thrilling day on the trails, park your snowmobile at the house and warm up by the fireplace. Ice fishing is a favorite here, and you can watch your fishing flags from the comfort of the heated walkout level while enjoying a warm drink. Picture yourself out on the ice with a Bald Eagle perched nearby, waiting for a fish to bite!
For even more adventure, Sugarloaf is only 1 hour and 40 minutes away, and Camden Snow Bowl is just over an hour. We also offer off-season and winter rentals, perfect for those seeking a cozy retreat during colder months.
Inside, the home is cozy and fully equipped with a spacious kitchen and everything you need to make your stay comfortable. For fun, head to the game room, featuring a large bar and a foosball table with a water view. Stay connected with WiFi and enjoy the peace of mind of a cell phone-friendly environment.
We welcome dogs on a case-by-case basis, but please ask for prior approval. No cats, please.
Located just 45 minutes from Maine’s beautiful coastal destinations and 2 hours from Bar Harbor, our property is ideally located off Route 3, making it the perfect home base for exploring. You’ll find rail and hiking trails nearby, and a variety of excellent restaurants in Hallowell, including Slates and Quarry Tap Room, as well as in Augusta. Plus, it’s only 15 minutes from Colby College, in the bustling city of Waterville, making it the perfect place to stay for family weekend or graduation.

About the host
Hosted by Scott
Our family purchased a camp on the lake in 1950 and we've been on the lake since then. We've offered our present home to families since 2012 and under our own management since 2013. We've had many different guests and many different wonderful stories that they have shared.
Why they chose this property
We've offered the our home for families since 2012 and under our own management since 2013. We've had many different guests stay here as well as family and friends. We stay here at various times year round when our guests aren't. It's great being 10 to 15 minutes from Augusta and Waterville yet in a quiet spot on the lake. We often take a drive to the coast being 45 minutes to Freeport, Camden or Belfast make it an easy ride. It is 2 hours from here to Bar Harbor/Acadia National Park. It's a year round residence so if it is a chilly or damp day, it won't be in the house. We are 2 minutes from Natanis Golf Course, a 36 hole golf course.
What makes this property unique
Our home was built in 1997, with all the benefits of a year-round home. We too stay here so we know what is works and doesn't for us and for our guests. We have a guest book that everyone writes about their stay. Typical thoughts about our guests' stay were phrases like; a home away from home, comfortable, fun, relaxing, decorated nicely, all the conveniences, clean. Its a home, yet it is just 40 feet from the lake with a nice lawn in between. We love just sitting out on our full length deck on the lakeside. The sun rises are beautiful. A dock which we tie our boat to for ease. The small beach makes it easy for us to return from kayaking and simply step out then pull the kayak onto shore without much effort. Plus, its great for the kids with its gradual slope. We get the fire pit going around sunset and sit around enjoying the loons and the quietness of the evening. Being seconds from the boat launch makes putting our boat in easy.
