About the host
Hosted by Cassandra Christensen
My name is Cassandra, I'm originally from The Netherlands, but have been in The USA for over 20 years. My American husband and I have 2 kids. The 4 of us love to travel and explore new places. In 2024 we became hosts ourselves, and so far we've loved the experience. Our guests have shared in the excitement of our cabin, the area, and hiking and doing things that we also enjoy, so it's like meeting a new friend each stay!
Why they chose this property
Hocking Hills, Ohio, is famous for the gorgeous scenery, amazing hikes, and the small town feeling. It's a great little place, with friendly people. We have lots of festivals and community events if you want to partake, or you can be fully remote on our very private property, enjoying nature at its finest.
We purchased this cabin because of the fantastic location, right in the middle of everything, and the amazing natural splendor you'll find on our property. It's truly one of a kind!
What makes this property unique
Our cabin is a wood-lined little home, on a one of a kind property. In the backyard you'll find a stone bench sitting right on top a bedrock slab, overlooking the Historic Blackjack Dam and Blackjack Creek below. You can take the staircase down into the hollow, and explore the huge rock outcroppings from closeup. The creek is year round, and houses small fish and other wildlife. Lots of deer visit the property and sometimes you'll see them crossing the creek at dusk.
Although the property boasts a rugged natural beauty, all the luxuries of home are found inside. Central heat and a brand new airconditioner, plush King sized beds, and a full kitchen welcome you. Hottub, grill, and firepit round out this spectacular home, which we hope you'll love as much as we do.
